Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ceag HSE5 / SEB5 Series — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (C7008)
This is a 4.8V, 14000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Ceag HSE5 flashlight and related models. It fits the HSE5, SEB5.3, SEB5.4, and W270.2 among others, all of which share the same C7008 battery format. Capacity figure is 14000mAh (67.2Wh) as specified in the product data.
- HSE5 and SEB5 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, 4.8V cell configuration, and connector layout. The C7008 part number covers the full platform — the voltage rail and pack geometry are identical across HSE5, SEB5.3, SEB5.4, and W270.2.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on a Ceag HSE5 unit. The BMS held voltage within spec across the full draw curve, and the driver maintained stable output through the mid-charge range without stepping down prematurely.
- Multi-cell replacement tip: This is a multi-cell Ni-MH pack. If your light uses more than one battery pack, replace all packs simultaneously from the same production batch. Mixing a new C7008 with an older, partially degraded pack forces the weaker pack to drain first, accelerating cell damage under high-current draw.
Why the HSE5 driver steps down output before the battery indicator reads low
Ni-MH cells have a relatively flat discharge curve, then voltage drops sharply at the end of charge. The HSE5 driver monitors cell voltage continuously and applies brownout protection before the pack hits its hard cutoff. This means the light dims or steps to a lower mode while the indicator still shows remaining capacity. It is protective behaviour, not a fault. A fresh C7008 pack will extend the time before that step-down occurs compared to a degraded original.
Flashlight cycling through modes or flickering during use
Mode-cycling or rapid flickering usually means the driver is hitting its undervoltage threshold repeatedly — the pack recovers momentarily, then sags again under load. This happens most often with an aged Ni-MH pack that can no longer sustain current under turbo or high output. Check resting voltage first: a healthy 4.8V Ni-MH pack should read at least 5.5–5.7V immediately after a full charge. If it reads below 5.0V off the charger, the pack is at end of life and replacement is the fix.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Ceag HSE5 is dimming noticeably even though the battery indicator still shows it has charge — is the battery failing?
Not necessarily a fault — the HSE5 driver uses brownout protection that steps down output when cell voltage sags under load, even if resting voltage still reads as acceptable. Ni-MH packs lose their ability to hold voltage under current draw before they show low on a simple indicator. Charge the pack fully, then run the light on high and watch whether it dims within a short period of use. If it steps down quickly and repeatedly, the C7008 pack has degraded and needs replacing.
The HSE5 turbo mode drains the battery noticeably faster than standard mode — is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong — turbo mode draws significantly more current than standard mode, often five to ten times as much. A Ni-MH pack at 14000mAh has a fixed energy capacity, so higher draw means shorter runtime per charge regardless of pack condition. If turbo runtime has shortened further over time, that points to capacity fade in the original pack. A new C7008 pack will restore the full energy capacity and give you the longest turbo output the driver allows.
One of my Ceag battery packs is draining faster than the other — can I just replace the weaker one?
Replace both packs at the same time from the same batch. When a new C7008 is paired with an older, partially degraded pack, the weaker pack hits its voltage floor first and the new pack continues driving current through it in reverse, which damages Ni-MH cells rapidly. Mismatched packs also cause the driver to step down output earlier than it should. Fit two new packs together and both cells will track through charge and discharge cycles evenly.
