Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Navigon 20 Easy / 20 Plus — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (LIN3740011038020033)
This 3.7V 700mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Navigon 20 Easy and 20 Plus portable GPS navigators. It matches the OEM part number LIN3740011038020033 and the physical dimensions of 47.53 × 29.45 × 5.17mm. Fit the cell and the unit powers on without firmware prompts or connector modifications.
- 20 Easy and 20 Plus compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V supply rail. One cell covers both units — no wiring or adapter needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Navigon 20 unit. The BMS held the cutoff voltage correctly and the device showed a full charge indicator without error codes at the end of the charge cycle.
- Cold-start satellite acquisition after fitting: After any full power removal, the GPS receiver loses its ephemeris cache and must perform a cold start. Take the unit outdoors immediately after first power-on and leave it stationary — the first satellite fix typically takes 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts complete in under a minute once the cache rebuilds.
GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the Navigon 20
When the 20 Easy drops toward its low-voltage threshold, the device reduces power to the GPS receiver module to extend remaining capacity. Lower receiver sensitivity means weaker satellite signals get dropped, which degrades position accuracy and can cause route recalculations on straight roads. This is a firmware-level power management decision, not a fault with the antenna or unit. Keep charge above the point where the battery indicator shows one bar to maintain full receiver sensitivity.
Navigon 20 shuts off without the low-battery warning appearing first
A degraded original battery holds a surface charge that reads higher than its true state — the voltage-threshold indicator shows two bars, then the cell collapses and the unit cuts off. After fitting a new cell, the fuel gauge recalibrates over one or two full charge cycles. Until it does, the warning may still appear later than expected. Run the unit down to auto-shutoff and charge it fully to 4.2V twice, and the indicator will track the actual cell state accurately.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Navigon 20 Easy lost all my saved routes and favourites after swapping the battery — is that normal?
Yes. The 20 Easy stores some navigation data in battery-backed RAM, and a full power removal clears it. Saved routes and custom POIs are the most commonly affected items. Destinations stored to the internal flash memory — the factory map data and any downloaded updates — are unaffected. Before any battery swap, export favourites through the device menu to a microSD card so you can restore them immediately after.
After fitting the new battery, the Navigon 20 took nearly 10 minutes to find a GPS signal — is the unit faulty?
No — this is a normal cold start, not a hardware fault. When the battery is fully removed, the GPS receiver loses its stored almanac and ephemeris data, which are the satellite position tables it uses to lock quickly. Without that cache it has to download fresh data from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Place the unit flat on a dashboard or outside, keep it stationary, and it will lock. Every warm start after that will complete in under a minute.
The Navigon 20 drains noticeably faster when I'm actively navigating than when I just leave it sitting — what's happening?
Active navigation runs the GPS receiver and the backlit display simultaneously, which pulls significantly more current than standby. The display at full brightness is the single largest draw on a 700mAh cell. Drop screen brightness to mid-level in the display settings and, where signal permits, reduce the GPS update rate — both changes reduce current draw without affecting turn-by-turn guidance. If the drain still seems excessive after those adjustments, check that the screen timeout is not set to "never off."
