Sale priceFrom $22.99 USD Regular price $28.99

Fits Navman Mio Spirit 300, Spirit 300 Traffic, Spirit 555, Spirit 555 Traffic, and five additional models; replaces OEM part 07917TSIP.
3.7V 720mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 2.66Wh — sufficient for full-day navigation on moderate usage without mid-route power loss.
Connector seats vertically into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is fixed by the contact alignment on the pack.
We bench tested this cell in a Spirit 300 unit — BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion with no fault codes or charge delays.
After fitting, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation use — cold start after battery swap requires five to ten minutes for first fix versus under a minute on warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Navman Mio Spirit 300 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (07917TSIP)

This is a 3.7V 720mAh Li-ion cell built to fit the Navman Mio Spirit 300, Spirit 300 Traffic, Spirit 555, Spirit 555 Traffic, and several additional Spirit series GPS navigators. It replaces OEM part 07917TSIP. Fit the cell when the original can no longer hold charge across a navigation session.

  • Spirit 300 and 555 platform: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between them uses the same cell — 49.95 × 36.05 × 5.59mm with a matched discharge curve the device firmware expects.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on the Spirit 300 chassis, confirmed BMS initialisation, verified the charge IC accepted the pack without error flags, and checked that the battery indicator tracked correctly across a full discharge cycle.
  • Cold-start acquisition after power interruption: After fitting this cell, power the unit fully on outdoors before driving. The GPS performs a cold start after any full power removal — first satellite fix takes 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts drop back under a minute once almanac data is rebuilt.

GPS accuracy reducing as battery charge drops on the Spirit 300

The Spirit 300 reduces receiver sensitivity at low state of charge to protect the remaining voltage headroom for the display and processor. When the cell voltage sags below roughly 3.5V under load, the GPS chipset pulls back its acquisition gain. Position error increases and the blue dot drifts. Replacing a degraded cell that sags quickly under combined GPS-plus-display load restores full receiver gain across the navigation session.

Spirit 300 shutting off without a low-battery warning

The on-screen battery indicator on the Spirit 300 reads state of charge from a voltage lookup table calibrated against a new cell. An aged cell that loses capacity but still reads normal voltage will show two or three bars right up until the firmware hits its hard cutoff voltage and shuts the unit down without warning. This is a calibration drift problem, not a fault in the new cell. After fitting the replacement, run one full charge-to-discharge cycle so the firmware resets its reference point to the new cell's actual voltage curve.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Navman Spirit 300 lost all saved routes and favourites after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The Spirit 300 stores some navigation data in battery-backed RAM, and a full power removal wipes that volatile memory. Saved routes, recent destinations, and some POI lists are affected — installed map data on the internal flash is not. Re-enter your frequently used destinations after the swap and save them again to rebuild your favourites list.

The Spirit 300 is taking 8–10 minutes to find a satellite fix after the battery replacement — was it faster before?

That delay is a cold start, and it happens whenever the unit loses all power. The GPS chipset discards its almanac and ephemeris data when the battery is removed, so it has to download fresh satellite positioning data from scratch. Warm starts — when the unit already holds valid almanac data — take under a minute. Drive to an open area with clear sky view for the first fix and the unit will cache the almanac data for all subsequent starts.

The Spirit 300 battery indicator still shows full bars but the unit dies during active navigation — what's happening?

The on-screen indicator reads voltage, not true capacity. An aged original cell can sit at a normal open-circuit voltage but collapse under the combined load of the GPS receiver and backlit display, triggering the hard cutoff before the indicator drops. The new 720mAh cell has the capacity headroom to sustain that combined draw. Run one full charge cycle after fitting — charge to 100%, navigate until the unit shuts off naturally — so the firmware recalibrates its voltage-to-charge lookup against the new cell.
