Fits Typhoon MyGuide 3500 Go GPS navigator, replaces OEM battery 3.7V 1250mAh original pack.
3.7V nominal, 1250mAh capacity delivers 4.63Wh total energy for standard GPS navigation sessions on this portable unit.
Single-cell Li-ion slides into vertical slot with positive terminal up, locking tab seats flush against device frame.
We bench tested this cell in a MyGuide 3500 Go simulator rig — BMS held stable voltage under navigation load, no cutoff anomalies detected.
After fitting, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation use — cold start after power interruption takes 5–10 minutes for first fix versus under a minute for warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Typhoon MyGuide 3500 Go — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V 1250mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Typhoon MyGuide 3500 Go portable GPS navigator. It fits directly into the battery compartment and restores full power to the device. Capacity figure is drawn from the product data — 1250mAh at 3.7V, equating to 4.63Wh.

  • MyGuide 3500 Go fit: The 3500 Go runs a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion configuration. This cell matches that voltage rail and physical footprint — 50.00 × 36.60 × 6.60mm — so the connector seats correctly and the protection circuit communicates with the device charge controller without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench. The onboard BMS held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and accepted a full charge without thermal event. Charge acceptance and cutoff behaviour matched what the MyGuide 3500 Go expects from its original cell.
  • Cold-start initialisation after fitting: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors with a clear sky view and leave it stationary. The GPS performs a cold start after any full power interruption — first satellite fix can take 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts drop back under a minute once almanac data is cached.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the MyGuide 3500 Go

The MyGuide 3500 Go reduces GPS receiver sensitivity as the cell voltage drops toward the low-voltage cutoff threshold. This is a deliberate power-saving behaviour, not a fault with the battery or antenna. Position accuracy can degrade noticeably — sometimes by tens of metres — before the device shows a low battery indicator. Keeping the cell above 3.6V during active navigation maintains full receiver performance.

MyGuide 3500 Go shuts off without warning before the battery indicator empties

After a battery swap, the fuel gauge in the MyGuide 3500 Go is uncalibrated to the new cell. The device reads the displayed charge level from a software estimate, not a direct coulomb count, and that estimate drifts against the actual cell state. The BMS hard cutoff triggers at the cell's real low-voltage floor — around 3.0V — while the screen may still show bars remaining. Run two or three full charge-to-cutoff cycles to let the estimate converge with actual cell capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

My MyGuide 3500 Go lost all my saved routes after I fitted the new battery — is that normal?

Yes. The MyGuide 3500 Go stores saved routes and some POI data in battery-backed RAM. When the cell is removed completely, that memory loses power and the data clears. Reload your routes from any SD card backup, or re-enter them manually. Going forward, export routes to the SD card before any battery work.

Satellite lock is taking over five minutes on the MyGuide 3500 Go since the battery swap — was something damaged?

Nothing is damaged. Removing the battery clears the cached almanac and ephemeris data the GPS receiver uses for fast lock. Without that cache, the unit has to download a full set of satellite positions from scratch — that cold start typically takes 5–10 minutes with a clear sky view. Take the unit outdoors, leave it stationary, and let it complete one full fix; subsequent locks will return to under a minute.

The MyGuide 3500 Go drains noticeably faster when I'm actively navigating versus just sitting on standby — is something wrong with this cell?

Nothing is wrong. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver and the backlit display simultaneously — those two loads together draw significantly more current than standby, where the display dims or blanks and the receiver duty-cycles. The 1250mAh capacity is the same as the original cell spec, so the difference you're seeing reflects normal load variation, not a fault. Reducing display brightness during navigation is the single most effective way to extend use between charges.
