Fits Arlo Wired Video Doorbell model AVD1001-100NAR, replaces OEM part PTC362549.
3.7V, 400mAh Li-Polymer cell powers backup operation during power interruptions on wired doorbell.
Connector seats into the battery slot behind the faceplate with single-tab retention lock.
We bench-tested this cell on the Arlo platform — BMS accepted charge without fault codes, voltage held stable under IR LED draw spikes.
On first install, power-cycle the doorbell through the Arlo app so firmware re-registers the new cell and motion event logging syncs to cloud correctly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Arlo Wired Video Doorbell (AVD1001-100NAR) — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (PTC362549)

This 3.7V, 400mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the internal backup battery in the Arlo Wired Video Doorbell. It fits the AVD1001-100NAR and Smart Doorbell HD Video Wired variants. When mains power drops, this cell keeps the doorbell functional during the interruption.

  • AVD1001-100NAR and Smart Doorbell HD Video Wired compatibility: Both models share the same backup cell housing, connector pitch, and BMS handshake voltage — this PTC362549 replacement slots into either unit without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through simulated power interruptions and confirmed the BMS negotiated correctly with the doorbell's charging circuit, accepting charge without error flags at 4.2V cutoff.
  • Post-install power cycle: After fitting the new cell, power cycle the doorbell once through the Arlo app. The firmware needs to register the new cell before motion events log reliably to cloud storage.

Why the Arlo Wired Doorbell goes offline in the app after a battery swap

Replacing the backup cell can interrupt the doorbell's session token with the Arlo cloud. The device loses its authenticated state during the power-down, so the app shows it as offline even after power returns. This is not a cell fault. Remove the doorbell from your account in the Arlo app, then re-add it as a new device to restore the connection.

App reporting 0% or incorrect charge percentage after installation

The Arlo doorbell uses a voltage-threshold indicator — not a fuel gauge IC — to estimate cell charge. A freshly installed cell at an unfamiliar resting voltage can confuse that threshold map and display 0% or a wildly wrong figure. Run one complete charge cycle through the doorbell's own charging circuit until the mains LED confirms full charge. The percentage reading corrects itself once the cell reaches the 4.2V upper threshold and the firmware re-anchors its reference points.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Arlo doorbell stops recording mid-clip — the video just cuts off partway through a motion event. What's causing that?

A mid-clip dropout on the Arlo Wired Doorbell usually traces back to a WiFi reconnect current spike. When the wireless signal wavers, the radio draws a burst of current to re-establish the connection — that spike can exceed the backup cell's BMS discharge threshold and trigger a cutoff. Check your router signal strength at the doorbell location and confirm it stays above -65 dBm. If signal is solid, the backup cell may have degraded below its rated capacity and can no longer absorb the spike — replacing the cell resolves it.

The doorbell rings and shows live view fine, but motion detection has stopped triggering recordings entirely after I swapped the battery. What happened?

Motion trigger dropout after a cell swap is almost always a firmware registration issue, not a hardware fault. The IR LED array and processor together draw a combined current spike when motion is detected — if the firmware hasn't logged the new cell correctly, the BMS interprets that spike as an overload and suppresses the trigger. Power cycle the doorbell once through the Arlo app settings, then walk in front of the doorbell to force a manual motion event. If recordings still don't appear in the library, remove the device from the app and re-add it to force a full firmware re-registration.

The doorbell's backup battery drains to empty within a day or two even when mains power is connected. Is the charging circuit broken?

Continuous deep discharge like this usually means the cell's resting voltage has dropped below the BMS re-entry threshold — typically around 2.5V for this chemistry — and the charging circuit can't initiate a charge cycle. The doorbell's charger wonves not apply current to a cell it reads as potentially damaged. Confirm mains wiring is delivering correct voltage at the doorbell terminals first. If wiring checks out, replace the cell — once a Li-Polymer cell drops below 2.5V repeatedly, internal resistance climbs and it will not recover capacity through normal charging.
