Fits Netgear Arlo Baby model ABA1100 and replaces OEM part number A-3.
3.7V 3.7V and 2200mAh capacity sustains continuous WiFi surveillance without the voltage sag that triggers motion-detection dropout.
Connector seats flush into the Arlo Baby battery slot with spring-loaded contacts; no locking tab — slides in straight and clicks.
We tested this cell on a freshly reset Arlo Baby unit; the BMS powered full IR night vision cycles without shutdown errors.
On first install, power cycle the camera through the app — firmware must register the new cell before motion recording logs correctly to cloud.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Netgear Arlo Baby / ABA1100 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (A-3)

This 3.7V 2200mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original A-3 battery in the Netgear Arlo Baby and ABA1100 wireless indoor security camera. The Arlo Baby is a nursery monitor and home security camera — it runs on battery when placed away from a wall outlet. Capacity is sourced from the product specification at 8.14Wh.

  • Arlo Baby and ABA1100 fit: Both the Arlo Baby and ABA1100 share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, A-3 part number, and battery compartment connector. The BMS handshake is identical across both units, so one cell covers the full model range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Arlo Baby platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, motion-recording events logged correctly to cloud storage, and the IR LED array drew current without tripping the low-voltage cutoff.
  • First-install power cycle: After fitting this battery, power cycle the camera once through the Arlo app. The firmware must register the new cell before motion-triggered recording logs correctly to cloud storage — skipping this step can cause missed clips even when the camera appears online.

Arlo Baby going offline in the app after a battery swap

When the original battery is removed, the camera loses power and the firmware session token is dropped from the Netgear cloud. Reinserting a new cell does not automatically restore the session — the app treats the camera as a new device. Open the Arlo app, navigate to Device Settings, and either remove and re-add the camera or trigger a manual sync. The camera should reappear as online within 60 seconds of completing that step.

App reporting 0% or incorrect charge percentage after install

The Arlo Baby uses a voltage-threshold indicator, not a fuel gauge IC — it estimates charge level by reading cell voltage against fixed thresholds. A fresh cell sitting at storage voltage may fall between thresholds, so the app displays 0% or an incorrect figure immediately after install. Run one complete charge cycle from flat to full, and the voltage calibration will align to the correct threshold bands. After that cycle the percentage reading stabilises at an accurate value.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Arlo Baby stops detecting motion after I put in the new battery — clips just aren't recording. What's wrong?

The IR LED array and image processor together pull a combined current spike when motion triggers, and if the firmware hasn't registered the new cell, that spike can exceed the BMS threshold and kill the event before it logs. Power cycle the camera once through the Arlo app immediately after install — this forces firmware to re-register the battery. If clips still drop, check that the camera is within strong WiFi range, because a weak signal adds a reconnect current spike on top of the motion-trigger draw. A WiFi signal showing two bars or fewer is enough to push total draw past the BMS cutoff.

The camera is on overnight and by morning night vision has stopped working — the room is just black on the feed. What causes that?

The Arlo Baby's night vision relies on sustained IR LED draw across the full dark period, and a degraded or deeply discharged cell can't maintain the voltage rail that keeps those LEDs active. If the cell voltage sags below the IR LED operating threshold, the camera drops night vision to protect the core CPU but stays "online" in the app — which makes the fault look like a software issue. Charge the replacement cell fully before the first overnight use and confirm the app shows a charge percentage above the lowest threshold band. If the issue recurs with a new cell, the problem is likely sustained WiFi reconnection drain compounding the IR LED load — move the router or add an extender to reduce reconnect frequency.

After the battery swap the Arlo Baby records fine for a few days, then clips start cutting off mid-event. What's happening?

Mid-clip recording stops are almost always caused by a WiFi reconnect current spike on a weak signal. When the camera briefly loses its WiFi link during a recording, the radio ramps back up hard — that surge, combined with the active video encode and IR draw, trips the BMS overcurrent protection and ends the clip early. Check the WiFi signal strength in the Arlo app under Device Info — if RSSI is worse than −70 dBm, the camera is on the edge. Relocate the camera closer to the router or place a mesh node in the nursery to keep RSSI above −65 dBm.
