Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Husqvarna Automower 105 (2016–2019) — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 18V 2500mAh (45Wh) lithium-ion battery fits the Husqvarna Automower 105 from the 2016 through 2019 model years, along with 15 additional compatible variants. It powers the blade motor, drive wheels, and onboard navigation that keep the mower running its programmed pattern without input. Swap it in when the original pack no longer holds enough charge to complete a full mowing cycle.
- Automower 105 (2016–2019) compatibility: These model years share the same 18V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The pack slots in and communicates state-of-charge to the mower's onboard controller the same way the factory unit does.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated charge and discharge sequences, monitoring BMS response to inrush current spikes that mirror blade motor start-up load. The protection circuit held voltage within the expected window throughout.
- Spring recommission tip: Before the first mow of the season, bring the battery indoors overnight if the temperature is below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS on a pack that hasn't warmed up yet.
Charger showing fault after the mower sat in the garage all winter
Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly during storage. Over a full winter, a pack left in the mower or on the shelf can drop below the minimum acceptance voltage the charger checks before it will begin a charge cycle. When the voltage reads too low, the charger raises a fault rather than risk charging a damaged cell. The fix is to check the pack's resting voltage with a multimeter — if it reads above 12V, most chargers will recover it with a slow pre-charge cycle. If it reads below 10V, the cells have likely gone into deep discharge and the pack should be replaced.
Mower cuts out mid-row then restarts on its own
This is thermal protection triggering, not a faulty battery. When the blade motor works hard through thick or wet grass, current draw spikes and the pack's BMS trips to prevent cell damage from excess heat. The mower stops, the BMS resets after the pack cools, and the unit restarts. Let it sit for at least five minutes before manually restarting. If the cutouts become frequent in normal conditions, check that the blade is sharp — a blunt blade forces the motor to draw more current on every rotation, and that sustained load is what pushes the BMS over its threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Automower 105 keep stopping in the middle of a row and then start again on its own?
The BMS inside the battery pack is tripping on high current draw — most often caused by thick grass, wet conditions, or a blunt blade forcing the motor to work harder than usual. The pack cuts power to protect the cells, then resets once the temperature drops. Let the mower sit for five minutes before restarting. If it keeps happening on a fresh pack, check the blade — a worn blade is the most common trigger for repeated BMS trips on this model.
My charger won't accept the new battery — it just shows a fault light. What's wrong?
This usually happens when the pack ships at a storage charge level that sits near the lower edge of what the charger will accept. Place the battery in the dock and leave it undisturbed for 15 minutes — some chargers run a brief handshake before beginning the charge cycle and will clear the fault on their own. If the fault persists, check the dock contacts for dirt or corrosion and clean them with a dry cloth. A successful charge typically begins within the first 20 minutes; if the fault light remains solid after that, confirm the dock is reading 18V output at the contacts.
The mower isn't cutting as far into the session as it used to — is that normal for the first few uses?
Yes. New Li-ion cells don't hit their rated capacity on the first cycle. It typically takes four to five full charge and discharge cycles before the pack reaches 2500mAh. During that break-in window the mower will return to the dock sooner than expected — that's the cells conditioning, not a fault. Run it through complete cycles without interrupting the charge, and by cycle five the runtime should stabilise at full capacity.
