Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Husqvarna PR140Li / PR280Li — 58V Li-ion Replacement Battery (590 92 38-01)
This is a 58V 5000mAh (290Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for Husqvarna cordless lawn mowers and outdoor power equipment, including models compatible with the PR140Li and PR280Li battery references. It fits the same connector and voltage rail as the OEM pack. Drop this in where the original battery has lost capacity or stopped charging.
- PR140Li and PR280Li platform: Both references share the same 58V architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One replacement pack covers the full range — no adapter or firmware change needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through repeated blade-load cycles simulating thick-grass cutting passes. The BMS held steady under motor inrush spikes and engaged thermal protection correctly when internal temps rose — no false trips on normal load.
- Seasonal storage tip: Before putting the mower away for winter, charge this pack to around 50–60% — not full. A fully charged Li-ion cell stored for months accelerates capacity loss. Check voltage in spring before first use; anything below 48V may need a slow recovery charge before the charger accepts the pack.
BMS cutoff under thick-grass or wet-grass blade load
When the blade hits dense or wet grass, the motor draws a sharp inrush of current — sometimes 3–4× the steady-state draw. If the battery's BMS reads that spike as an overcurrent event, it cuts power to protect the cells. This is normal protective behaviour, not a fault with the pack. Slow your mowing pace in heavy conditions to reduce inrush frequency. If cutoffs continue, check that the blade is sharp — a dull blade forces the motor to work significantly harder and pushes draw higher.
Charger showing a fault light after the mower sat all winter
Li-ion packs self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month in storage. After six months in a cold garage, cell voltage can drop below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically around 42–45V on a 58V pack — causing the charger to flash a fault indicator instead of starting a charge cycle. Some Husqvarna chargers have a recovery mode: connect the pack, wait 60–90 seconds, and the charger may step in with a low-current trickle to bring cell voltage back into the acceptance window. If the fault light persists after two minutes, disconnect, wait 10 minutes, and reconnect to retry.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Husqvarna mower cuts out halfway through a row then starts again after a minute — is that the battery?
That's thermal protection activating, not a failing pack. The blade motor generates heat under sustained load, and when internal battery temperature hits the BMS threshold, it briefly interrupts output to protect the cells. Let the mower sit for 5 minutes with the battery still inserted — the BMS resets once temperature drops. If it's cutting out frequently, slow your pace or mow in two passes over thick sections to reduce sustained current draw.
This new pack feels noticeably warmer than my old battery did after a full mow — is something wrong?
New cells run warmer for the first few cycles while the chemistry stabilises — this is normal conditioning behaviour, not a defect. Fresh Li-ion cells have slightly higher internal resistance out of the box, which generates more heat under load. That resistance drops after approximately 5 full charge-discharge cycles and the pack will run cooler. If it's still running hot and the outer casing is too hot to hold after cycle 6, check that the battery contacts on the mower deck are clean and making full contact.
The mower feels sluggish and loses power quickly on the first cold morning of spring — was the battery stored wrong?
Cold temperatures increase internal resistance in Li-ion cells, which reduces the current they can deliver — a pack at 5°C can lose 20–30% of its effective capacity compared to the same pack at 20°C. This is a chemistry characteristic, not a storage fault. Bring the battery indoors overnight before the first cold-weather mow and let it reach room temperature before fitting it to the mower. Once the cells warm up during use, output recovers — you should notice improvement within the first 10 minutes of mowing.
