Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Opus Click Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AHB83450)
This 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original AHB83450 battery in the Opus Click, Plus, Player, and Touch portable media players. It fits the compact 52.30 × 34.00 × 8.50mm battery bay and restores full audio playback capacity. Capacity listed is from product data — 5.55Wh total energy.
- Click, Plus, Player, and Touch compatibility: These four models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, identical connector pinout, and the same BMS voltage thresholds — that is why one cell fits all four. No rewiring or adapter needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Click platform. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, hit the 4.2V charge cutoff correctly, and the low-voltage cutoff triggered at the expected 3.0V floor with no false trips.
- First-use charge after cell swap: After fitting a new cell, place the player on charge before powering it on. Media players in this class often enter deep-discharge protection after storage, and the device needs a slow trickle charge to clear that state before it will accept a normal charge current.
Battery percentage jumping after cell swap on the Opus Click
After fitting a new Li-Polymer cell, the Opus Click's fuel gauge reads from a calibration table built around the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell has a slightly different internal resistance profile, so the voltage-threshold indicator misreads state of charge early on. This shows up as the percentage jumping — often dropping suddenly from 40% to 5% or climbing unexpectedly. Run two or three full charge-to-cutoff cycles and the gauge recalibrates to the new cell's actual curve.
Playback cutting out before the battery indicator shows empty
As a Li-Polymer cell approaches the bottom of its discharge curve, internal resistance rises sharply. The audio amplifier in the Opus Click draws a short burst of current on loud passages, and that current spike causes the cell voltage to sag below the BMS cutoff threshold — even when the indicator still shows charge remaining. The BMS reads that sag as a fault and shuts down the output to protect the cell. If this happens, connect the charger immediately and allow the cell to recover to at least 3.6V before resuming playback.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Opus Click won't turn on at all after sitting unused for a few months — is the new battery dead?
It is almost certainly in deep-discharge protection, not dead. When a Li-Polymer cell drops below roughly 2.5V during long storage, the BMS locks output until the cell is trickle-charged back up to a safe voltage. Connect the charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power the device on — the screen may stay blank the entire time, which is normal.
The battery percentage on my Opus Click drops from around 30% straight to zero and the player shuts off — what is causing that?
The audio amplifier pulls a short current spike during playback, and at the low end of the discharge curve the cell's internal resistance causes the voltage to sag below the BMS cutoff point faster than the indicator can track. The indicator is reading average voltage, not instantaneous draw. Charge the cell back to 4.2V and run two full discharge cycles — this narrows the gap between what the gauge reports and what the cell can actually deliver under load.
Wireless audio on my Opus Click is draining the new battery far faster than I expected — is the cell faulty?
The cell is likely fine. Wireless playback draws four to five times the current of display-only or wired operation. A 1500mAh cell at that draw rate discharges noticeably faster than users expect coming from wired listening. To confirm the cell is healthy, run it once in airplane or wired mode and compare — if drain normalises, the wireless radio is the load, not a faulty cell. If drain is still excessive in wired mode, check that the BMS is reaching a full 4.2V cutoff on charge.
