Fits Vapex VTE 1450M media player battery slot; replaces OEM part VTE 1450M.
1.2V 1200mAh Ni-MH cell delivers stable voltage for sustained portable audio and video playback without sudden cutoff.
Connector slides straight into media player battery chamber; locking tab seats flush with housing on insertion.
We bench-tested this Ni-MH pack in a similar portable audio device; voltage held steady through discharge cycle with no BMS dropout.
After installation, insert the battery and connect your media player charger for a slow trickle charge — Ni-MH chemistry needs 2–3 hours initial charge before the device exits deep discharge protection mode.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vapex VTE 1450M — 1.2V Ni-MH 1200mAh Replacement Battery

This is a 1.2V 1200mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for portable media players using the Vapex VTE 1450M cell. It replaces an original cell that no longer holds charge or fails to power the device through a full playback session. Capacity is 1200mAh (1.44Wh) — matched to the OEM specification.

  • VTE 1450M cell format: This slim-profile cell measures 66.78 × 16.70 × 5.96mm, matching the narrow battery bay found in compact media players. The geometry matters — an oversized cell will physically bind before the contacts seat correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a media player test rig. The BMS accepted charge current without interruption and held voltage above 1.0V through the full discharge curve before cutoff triggered.
  • First charge after installation: Media players frequently enter a deep-discharge protection state after extended storage. Connect the charger and leave the device plugged in for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on — this allows the trickle stage to recover the cell voltage above the BMS wake threshold.

Battery percentage jumping after a cell swap

Portable media players estimate charge level by reading cell voltage against a fixed lookup table. A fresh Ni-MH cell has a slightly different discharge curve than an aged original, so the indicator recalibrates over the first few cycles. Expect erratic percentage readings for two to three full charge-discharge cycles. After that, the indicator stabilises as the firmware learns the new cell's voltage profile.

Playback cutting out before the battery indicator shows empty

Audio amplifier circuits draw a short current spike when driving headphones at higher volume. At the tail end of the discharge curve, Ni-MH cell voltage sags below 1.0V under that load — enough for the protection circuit to cut output even though the indicator still shows residual charge. The fix is to reduce playback volume during the last portion of the charge cycle. If cutout is immediate after installation, charge fully to 1.2V first before running the device.

Frequently Asked Questions

My media player won't turn on at all after the battery sat unused for months — is the cell dead?

Almost certainly not. Ni-MH cells that have self-discharged below roughly 0.9V will trigger the device's deep-discharge protection state, which blocks power-on entirely. Connect the charger and leave it plugged in for at least 30 minutes without pressing the power button — this lets the trickle charge bring the cell voltage back above the BMS wake threshold. Once the cell reaches approximately 1.0V, the device will accept a normal charge and power on.

The battery percentage on my media player jumps around — it showed 60% then suddenly dropped to 10% mid-session. What's happening?

This is a voltage-threshold recalibration issue, not a faulty cell. The firmware maps percentage to voltage readings taken from the original cell's discharge curve. A replacement cell with a slightly different curve confuses that mapping until the player has logged a few full cycles. Run two to three complete charge-discharge cycles without interrupting playback and the percentage display will stabilise against the new cell's actual curve.

My player drains noticeably faster when I use Bluetooth or WiFi compared to just playing stored audio. Is the battery undersized?

No — wireless radios draw four to five times more current than the audio circuit alone, and a 1200mAh Ni-MH cell at 1.2V has a fixed energy budget of 1.44Wh. That draw is normal for any wireless-enabled media player, regardless of cell brand. To extend playback between charges, disable wireless connectivity when streaming from local storage and only enable it when actively syncing.
