This 10.8V, 5200mAh lithium-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Bard Site Rite 5 and Site Rite 6 portable ultrasound systems. It matches the voltage rail, connector, and BMS communication protocol of the original DR206 cell. Capacity is sourced from product data — 56.16Wh total.

Run one complete charge-discharge cycle — charge to 12.6V, let the device discharge in normal use, then charge fully again. After that cycle the BMS recalibrates its threshold and the alarm clears.

The charge indicator on the Site Rite 6 stops climbing before it reaches 100% — is the new battery defective?

It's not defective. The charge IC applies a conservative current limit on a new cell with unverified internal resistance, so it terminates the charge stage early on the first attempt. On the second charge cycle the IC uses measured resistance data from the first cycle to set the correct termination point, and the indicator will reach 100%. Keep the device on AC power through that second full charge before drawing on the battery in a procedure.

The Site Rite 5 is shutting off unexpectedly mid-examination — what's causing that?

New lithium-ion cells have slightly elevated internal resistance in the first 10 cycles. The imaging load during active use draws enough current to create a momentary voltage sag that the BMS reads as an undervoltage condition, triggering a protective shutdown at roughly 9.0V cell terminal voltage. The cell's resistance drops as it breaks in, so early shutoffs become less frequent with each cycle. Condition the pack with three to five full charge-discharge cycles on the bench before using it in patient care settings.
