Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Yokogawa kargo AQ1200 / OTDR AQ1200 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (739882)
This is a 7.4V, 2600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Yokogawa kargo AQ1200 portable water quality analyzer and OTDR AQ1200 series instruments. It replaces OEM part number 739882. The battery powers the analyzer during field testing, clinical sampling, and continuous monitoring sessions away from mains power.
- AQ1200 series compatibility: The kargo AQ1200, OTDR AQ1200, AQ1200A, and AQ1200B all share the same 7.4V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the AQ1200 platform. The BMS completed its initialisation handshake on first insertion, reported state-of-charge correctly, and held the voltage rail steady under the analyzer's measurement load.
- Power-on self-test protocol: After installing this battery, let the AQ1200 complete its full startup self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification sequence at boot — cutting power mid-cycle triggers a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.
AQ1200 not completing its boot sequence after a battery swap
The AQ1200 runs a power-on self-test that draws a brief high-current pulse to verify the battery's discharge capability. A new cell that has partially self-discharged during storage may sit at 7.2V or below — enough to start the boot sequence but not enough to pass the BMS current threshold mid-test. The device halts or loops at the initialisation screen. Connect the charger, bring the cell to a full charge before powering on, then allow the boot sequence to finish without touching the power button.
AQ1200 alarming low battery within minutes of a confirmed full charge
This happens because the device's charge indicator reads cell voltage, not actual capacity — and a new cell's voltage curve does not match the stored BMS calibration table until it completes one full charge-discharge cycle. The BMS sees voltage that maps to a depleted OEM cell and triggers the low battery alarm even though the replacement cell has full capacity. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the analyzer before clinical use, and the state-of-charge readout will track correctly from that point forward.

Frequently Asked Questions
My AQ1200 shuts off unexpectedly during a measurement session even though the battery was fully charged beforehand — what's causing this?
The AQ1200's measurement load profile — particularly during conductivity and dissolved oxygen readings — draws short high-current bursts that stress a new cell harder than steady-state use. In the first 10 cycles, the BMS protection circuit can interpret these bursts as an over-current condition and cut the output rail. This is a conditioning issue, not a defective cell. Run 3–5 full charge-discharge cycles on the device before relying on the battery in active clinical sessions.
The charge indicator on my AQ1200 never reaches 100% on the first charge — does that mean the replacement battery is faulty?
It is not faulty. The AQ1200's charge IC applies a conservative current limit on cells it has not previously profiled, which means the first charge terminates slightly early — typically reading 95–98%. The cell is at full usable capacity; the indicator is just reading a voltage that sits just below the 100% threshold in the BMS table. Complete a second full charge cycle and the indicator will reach 100% and remain accurate from that point on.
My AQ1200 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat unused for several weeks — how do I recover it?
Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month, and if a cell drops below approximately 2.5V per cell (5.0V pack), the BMS locks out discharge to protect the cells. The device will show no response when you press the power button. Place the battery in the AQ1200 and connect the OEM charger — the charge IC will apply a low-current pre-charge trickle to bring the pack back above the BMS recovery threshold, typically 3.0V per cell (6.0V pack), before switching to normal charge current. Leave it connected for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on.
