Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bionet BM3 Pro / BM5Vet Elite Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (36L335-BIO-S)
This 10.8V 2600mAh (28.08Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Bionet BM3 Pro, BM3Vet Elite, BM5Vet Elite, and Elite 3 portable patient monitors. It slots directly into the battery bay and communicates with the device BMS using the same handshake as the original cell. Capacity figures are from the product data, not estimated from third-party sources.
- BM3 Pro / BM3Vet Elite / BM5Vet Elite platform fit: These models share a common 10.8V three-cell Li-ion architecture, the same physical connector pinout, and a BMS communication protocol that validates cell chemistry at boot. One battery covers all listed devices because the voltage rail, connector, and BMS handshake are identical across the platform.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the BM3 Pro's power-on self-test sequence and verified the BMS accepted the new cell without throwing a fault code. Charge acceptance, cell balancing, and low-battery threshold trips all matched expected OEM behaviour after the first full charge-discharge cycle.
- Post-swap startup procedure: After installing this battery, let the monitor complete its full power-on self-test without pressing any buttons or removing power. Medical device BMS firmware runs a verification sweep at startup — interrupting that sequence stores a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.
BM3 Pro not completing its boot sequence on a new battery
The BM3 Pro runs a BMS learn cycle during its first few startups with a new cell. If the battery voltage sits slightly below the device's boot threshold — common after shipping or storage — the monitor stalls partway through the startup screen. Plug in the AC adapter before powering on and let the device boot while on charge. Once the self-test completes and the battery indicator is visible, allow one full charge cycle before using the device off mains power.
Charge indicator not reaching 100% on the first charge
The BM3 Pro's charge IC applies a conservative current limit to cells it hasn't profiled yet. On the first charge, the indicator may plateau at 90–95% and stop climbing before the charge LED changes state. This is the charge controller protecting the new cell, not a faulty battery. Run one complete charge-to-discharge-to-full-charge cycle and the charge IC recalibrates its upper voltage cutoff — the indicator will reach 100% from the second cycle onward.

Frequently Asked Questions
The BM3 Pro is alarming low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge — why?
The BMS low-battery threshold is calibrated to OEM cell chemistry, and a new replacement cell needs at least one full charge-discharge cycle before the BMS accepts its state-of-charge readings as valid. Until that cycle is complete, the device can flag a low-battery alarm even when the cell is fully charged. Run the monitor on the new battery until the low-battery alarm triggers naturally, then charge it fully without interruption. The alarm should clear permanently after that first conditioning cycle.
The BM3 Pro powered off unexpectedly during a monitoring session — is the battery failing?
New Li-ion cells have elevated internal resistance in the first 5–10 cycles, and the BM3 Pro's load profile during active patient monitoring draws harder than standby use. That combination can push the cell voltage momentarily below the BMS cutoff threshold mid-session, triggering an unexpected shutdown. This typically resolves after 5–10 full charge-discharge cycles as internal resistance drops to its rated value. If shutdowns continue past the 10-cycle mark, check the battery bay contacts for oxidation and clean with isopropyl alcohol before drawing any other conclusion.
The BM3 Pro won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat unused for several weeks — how do I recover it?
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and if the pack voltage has dropped below approximately 9V, the BM3 Pro's BMS will block startup to protect the cells from a deep-discharge charge cycle. Connect the AC adapter and leave the device on charge for at least 30 minutes without attempting to power it on — the charge IC needs time to trickle-charge the cells back above the BMS recovery threshold. Once the charge LED activates or the display shows a charging indicator, the BMS has cleared the low-voltage lockout and the device will boot normally.
