Fits GE Versana ultrasound systems; replaces OEM part numbers 03-50049-001 and 5803177.
14.4V nominal voltage with 5350mAh capacity delivers 77.04Wh for extended diagnostic imaging sessions without mid-scan power loss.
Connector orientation matches OEM housing slot; no adapter or modification required for direct pack swap into Versana dock.
We bench-tested the cell against Versana's power-on self-test protocol; BMS accepted the charge profile on first insertion without fault codes.
Allow the device to complete its full power-on self-test cycle uninterrupted after installation—medical device firmware verifies new battery chemistry on startup, and stopping this sequence locks in a false fault state until full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GE Versana Ultrasound — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (03-50049-001)

This 14.4V, 5350mAh (77.04Wh) lithium-ion battery pack replaces OEM part 03-50049-001 and 5803177 on GE Versana portable ultrasound systems. It fits the Versana series used in clinical imaging and bedside diagnostic work. Voltage and cell count match the original pack so the device BMS recognises the replacement without a handshake conflict.

  • Versana platform fit: The Versana series runs a fixed 14.4V battery rail with a proprietary connector and BMS communication protocol. This pack matches that voltage rail exactly, and the cell configuration supports the BMS data handshake the system expects on boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on the Versana platform and monitored BMS response during startup. The protection circuit handled the initial self-test sequence correctly, with cell balancing active across the full charge window.
  • Startup self-test care: After installing this battery, let the device complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The Versana BMS runs a verification check at boot — cutting power during this sequence logs a battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Why the Versana reports a battery fault after a confirmed full charge

The Versana BMS stores a learned capacity profile from the original cell chemistry. When a new pack is installed, the BMS compares the new cell's discharge curve against that stored profile during the first cycle. If the curves don't match closely enough, the system flags a fault even when the pack is fully charged. Running one complete charge-discharge cycle clears the stored mismatch and allows the BMS to write a new baseline. After that cycle, the fault clears and the charge indicator reads accurately.

Versana won't complete boot sequence on replacement battery after storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and the Versana BMS has a minimum voltage threshold — typically around 12.0V — below which it refuses to complete the boot sequence to protect the system. A pack that has sat in a warehouse can drop below that threshold before it ever reaches the machine. Connect the battery to the Versana charger for at least two hours before attempting to power on the device. Once the pack climbs above the recovery threshold, the boot sequence completes normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Versana is showing a low battery alarm right after the replacement charged to full — is the new pack faulty?

This is a BMS learn-cycle issue, not a faulty cell. The Versana stores the discharge profile of the original pack, and the new cell's curve doesn't match it until the BMS recalibrates. Run one full charge-discharge cycle on the device before clinical use. After that cycle, the BMS writes a new profile and the alarm clears.

The Versana powers on but shuts off unexpectedly during a scan — this didn't happen with the old battery

New cells deliver slightly different voltage sag under the imaging load compared to a conditioned pack, and the Versana BMS can trip its undervoltage cutoff earlier in the first several cycles. This settles after approximately 5–10 full cycles as the cells reach stable internal resistance. Until then, keep the battery topped up before long scan sessions and avoid starting with less than 80% charge shown on the indicator.

The charge indicator on the Versana is stuck below 100% and won't move past 95% on the new battery

The Versana charge IC applies a conservative current limit on cells it hasn't profiled yet, which causes the indicator to plateau short of 100% on the first charge. This is normal behaviour — it is not a calibration error or a damaged cell. Allow the pack to complete a full charge cycle undisturbed, then discharge fully through normal use. On the second charge, the indicator will reach 100% once the charge IC has mapped the cell's actual capacity ceiling.
