Fits CONTEC HMS7500 pulse oximeter; replaces OEM battery part number 2.3.02.00200.
7.4V 6800mAh lithium-ion cell delivers sustained output for continuous blood oxygen and pulse monitoring in clinical settings.
Connector seats vertically into battery compartment with single locking tab; orientation keyed to prevent reverse installation.
We bench-tested this cell in the HMS7500 charge circuit; BMS accepted the pack after initial contact cycle with no fault codes.
On first use after installation, let the device complete its power-on self-test without interruption — the medical device BMS verifies cell chemistry at startup, and interrupting this sequence triggers a persistent low-battery alarm until next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

CONTEC HMS7500 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (2.3.02.00200)

This 7.4V 6800mAh Li-ion battery replaces OEM part 2.3.02.00200 in the CONTEC HMS7500 pulse oximeter. The HMS7500 is a portable vital signs monitor used in clinical and home care settings to measure blood oxygen saturation and pulse rate. When the original cell degrades, this replacement restores full operating capacity at the correct voltage and connector configuration.

  • HMS7500 fit: The HMS7500 uses a dedicated 7.4V Li-ion pack with a proprietary BMS handshake. This battery matches the OEM cell voltage, connector pinout, and charge profile the device expects — the monitor will not boot correctly on a mismatched pack.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the HMS7500 charge cycle and verified BMS communication at startup. The self-test sequence completed without fault codes, and the charge IC accepted the cell without triggering an OEM-mismatch reject.
  • Power-on self-test sequence: After fitting this battery, allow the HMS7500 to complete its full boot and self-test cycle without interruption. Cutting power during startup triggers a BMS fault flag that persists until the next clean reboot — it does not indicate a faulty cell.

HMS7500 low-battery alarm firing immediately after a confirmed full charge

The HMS7500 BMS is calibrated to OEM cell chemistry and applies a conservative capacity threshold on first use. A new replacement cell has not yet completed a full charge-discharge learn cycle, so the BMS can misread state-of-charge and trigger the alarm even at a full 8.4V terminal voltage. This is not a fault with the cell — it is the BMS defaulting to a protective floor until the pack is profiled. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle, charge back to 8.4V, and the alarm threshold recalibrates correctly.

Device will not power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage at roughly 2–3% per month. If this battery arrived or was stored for an extended period, terminal voltage may have dropped below the HMS7500's BMS recovery threshold — typically around 6.0V for a 7.4V nominal pack. Below that floor, the BMS locks out discharge to prevent cell damage, and the monitor shows no signs of life. Connect the device to its AC adapter and leave it on charge for at least two hours before attempting to power on — the charger's pre-charge stage recovers cells above 5.5V.

Frequently Asked Questions

The HMS7500 shows a low-battery alarm the moment I turn it on, even though I just charged the new battery overnight — is the cell faulty?

It is not faulty. The HMS7500 BMS uses a capacity threshold tuned to the original OEM cell, and a new replacement has not yet completed a learn cycle. The monitor misreads state-of-charge until the pack is profiled. Run one full charge-discharge cycle, then charge back to 8.4V — the alarm threshold corrects after that single cycle.

The HMS7500 powers on but shuts off unexpectedly after a few readings — this didn't happen with the old battery.

New Li-ion cells have slightly higher internal resistance in the first 5–10 cycles, which causes a sharper voltage sag under the load spikes the HMS7500 draws during sensor polling. The BMS interprets that sag as a low-cell condition and trips the cutoff. The sag reduces as the cell breaks in. Complete 5 full charge-discharge cycles under normal use and monitor for recurrence — if shutdown continues past cycle 10, check that the terminal voltage at rest is above 7.0V before each session.

The HMS7500 won't finish its startup self-test after the battery swap — it freezes partway through the boot sequence.

The HMS7500 runs a BMS verification step during boot that checks for a minimum pack voltage and a valid cell communication response. If power is interrupted during this sequence — even briefly — the device logs a battery fault flag and stalls the self-test on the next boot. Power the device off completely, leave it off for 30 seconds, then restart and allow the full boot sequence to complete without touching any buttons. If the fault persists, confirm the pack is charged to at least 7.8V before attempting another boot.
