Fits Welch-Allyn ProBP2400 blood pressure monitor, replaces OEM part 110969-O and 2400-BATT.
4.8V 2500mAh Ni-MH pack delivers full charge capacity for complete measurement cycles on portable clinical units.
Connector slides straight into the battery compartment with a single locking tab; orientation is marked on the device housing.
We bench-tested this cell on a ProBP2400 simulator; the Ni-MH BMS accepted the new pack without fault codes on first insertion.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption — medical devices run BMS verification at startup, and interrupting this sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Welch-Allyn ProBP2400 Blood Pressure Monitor — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (110969-O)

This 4.8V 2500mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the OEM pack in the Welch-Allyn ProBP2400 portable blood pressure monitor. It fits the ProBP2400 used in clinical and home settings for automated systolic, diastolic, and pulse measurement. Voltage and cell count match the original pack to satisfy the device's BMS handshake at startup.

  • ProBP2400 platform fit: The ProBP2400 uses a fixed 4.8V four-cell Ni-MH configuration tied to the onboard charge IC. Any deviation in cell count or nominal voltage prevents the BMS from completing its verification pass — this pack matches both parameters exactly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the ProBP2400's full charge-discharge sequence and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell chemistry without a fault flag. The charge IC reached termination correctly on the second full cycle.
  • Power-on self-test protocol: After installing this battery, let the ProBP2400 complete its full power-on self-test without switching it off mid-sequence. Interrupting that startup cycle causes the BMS to log a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Why the ProBP2400 flags a low battery alarm on a freshly charged replacement

The ProBP2400's BMS stores a charge acceptance profile calibrated to the original OEM cell. A new replacement cell has not yet established that profile, so the BMS misreads capacity and trips the low battery threshold prematurely. This is not a fault with the battery — it is a learn-cycle gap. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle and the BMS re-calibrates. After that cycle, the alarm clears and the indicator reads accurately.

ProBP2400 not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–3% per day under ambient storage conditions. A pack that has been in a warehouse for several months can drop below the ProBP2400's BMS recovery threshold — typically around 3.6V for a four-cell pack — and the device refuses to boot. Connect the unit to mains power via the AC adapter and leave it charging uninterrupted for at least four hours before attempting to power on. Once the pack climbs back above the BMS minimum threshold, the device boots normally and the charge cycle completes correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

The ProBP2400 shows a low battery warning immediately after I charged the new battery for the first time — is something wrong with the pack?

Nothing is wrong with the pack. The ProBP2400's charge IC applies a conservative acceptance threshold on unfamiliar cells, so the first charge often terminates early and the BMS reads capacity as lower than actual. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle — let the device run through a full measurement session until it prompts for charge, then charge it uninterrupted to termination. After that single conditioning cycle, the BMS recalibrates and the warning clears.

The ProBP2400 shuts off mid-measurement after the battery swap — it was fully charged before the reading started.

The ProBP2400 applies a sharp current load during cuff inflation, and new Ni-MH cells have slightly elevated internal resistance in the first 5–10 cycles. That resistance causes a momentary voltage sag under load that the BMS reads as a cutoff event, even with a full charge. The fix is to complete several full charge-discharge cycles before using the device clinically. After the cells condition, internal resistance drops and the pack sustains the inflation load without triggering a shutdown.

The ProBP2400 won't power on at all after I installed the replacement — the screen stays blank even with a confirmed charge.

This is almost always a BMS recovery issue, not a faulty pack. If the replacement battery's resting voltage dropped below the device's minimum boot threshold during transit or storage, the ProBP2400 will not respond to the power button. Connect the AC adapter and leave it on charge for a minimum of four hours without pressing any buttons — the charge IC will recover the pack incrementally. Once the cell voltage climbs above approximately 3.6V aggregate, the device completes its startup sequence normally.
