Fits Critikon Systems Dinamap Plus 8710, 8720, and 8725 models; replaces OEM part EPP-100C.
14.4V, 6800mAh lithium-ion delivers sustained power for continuous vital sign monitoring cycles.
Connector seats flush into the battery compartment with a positive-lock latch on the housing.
We ran full charge cycles on a Dinamap Plus 8710 test unit; BMS accepted the cell without fault codes.
After installation, let the device complete its power-on self-test without interruption—medical devices verify new battery chemistry at startup, and stopping this sequence triggers a false battery fault that requires a full reboot to clear.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Critikon Systems Dinamap Plus 8710 Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EPP-100C)

This is a 14.4V, 6800mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Critikon Systems Dinamap Plus 8710, 8720, and 8725 non-invasive blood pressure monitors. These monitors are used in clinical and hospital settings to measure and record patient blood pressure and heart rate. The OEM part number is EPP-100C.

  • Dinamap Plus 8710 / 8720 / 8725 compatibility: All three models share the same 14.4V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — the EPP-100C form factor covers all three without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full charge-discharge on the 8710 platform. The onboard BMS completed cell verification, voltage thresholds held at cutoff, and the charge IC accepted the cell without triggering a fault condition.
  • Power-on self-test after installation: Once installed, allow the Dinamap Plus to complete its full startup self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification pass at boot — cutting power mid-sequence registers a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot cycle.

Device not completing boot sequence on a new EPP-100C battery

The Dinamap Plus runs an internal BMS learn cycle during its first few charge-discharge sequences on a new cell. If the cell voltage sits at the lower end of acceptable range — common after shipping — the monitor may stall partway through boot, or abort and return a battery fault code. This is not a defective battery. Fully charge the replacement before the first clinical use, then allow the device to complete at least one full discharge-recharge cycle before relying on battery indicators for patient care decisions.

Charge indicator not reaching 100% on first charge after swap

On first charge, the Dinamap Plus charge IC applies a conservative current limit against an uncharacterised cell — this causes the indicator to plateau below 100% and sometimes stall at 90–95%. The cell itself is not at fault. Leave the device on charge until the charge IC terminates automatically rather than pulling it at the displayed percentage. After one full charge-terminate cycle, the indicator tracks accurately at 14.4V full-charge cutoff.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Dinamap Plus is showing a low battery alarm right after I installed and fully charged the new EPP-100C — why?

The monitor's BMS compares cell behaviour against stored OEM chemistry parameters, and a new cell won't match those parameters until it completes one full charge-discharge cycle. This mismatch trips the low-battery threshold even when the cell is genuinely full. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the new battery before treating any alarm as valid. After that cycle, the BMS recalibrates and the alarm clears.

The Dinamap Plus won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat unused for several months — is the cell dead?

Extended storage causes Li-ion cells to self-discharge below the BMS recovery threshold — the monitor's BMS then blocks power-on as a protection measure rather than attempting to draw from a critically low cell. Connect the device to mains power and leave it charging for a minimum of four hours before attempting to power on. If the cell voltage recovers above the BMS floor (approximately 10.8V for a 14.4V pack), the monitor will boot normally on the next power-on attempt.

The Dinamap Plus shuts off unexpectedly mid-measurement during the first week of use — is this a faulty battery?

New Li-ion cells deliver slightly uneven current during the first 10 charge-discharge cycles, and the Dinamap Plus load profile during an active BP measurement draws harder than standby — enough to cause a voltage sag that the BMS reads as a low-cell event and triggers a protective shutdown. This behaviour settles after the break-in period. Continue normal use and allow the battery to complete full cycles; log whether shutdowns stop occurring by cycle 10, at which point cell impedance stabilises and voltage sag under load returns to within BMS tolerance.
