Fits GE Dash 2500 patient monitors; replaces OEM part numbers 2023227-001, 2023852-029, N1082, AMED2250, M2828NO, M2828, B11773, and CSA24119.
This 8.4V Ni-MH pack delivers 8000mAh capacity to sustain continuous vital sign monitoring during patient transport and bedside assessment.
Connector seats into the battery door slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed — pack only inserts one way into the housing.
We bench-tested this cell in the Dash 2500 platform; the BMS accepted charge without fault and held voltage stable under simulated monitoring load.
After installation, let the monitor complete its power-on self-test without interruption — medical devices run BMS verification at startup, and interrupting this sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GE Dash 2500 Patient Monitor — 8.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (2023227-001)

This 8.4V, 8000mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the original power cell in the GE Dash 2500 patient monitor. It fits the Dash 2500 and Moniteur Dash 2500 platforms used in hospitals and clinical transport. OEM part numbers 2023227-001, 2023852-029, N1082, and B11773 all cross-reference to this cell.

  • Dash 2500 platform fit: The Dash 2500 series uses an 8.4V Ni-MH chemistry with a specific BMS handshake that verifies cell voltage and internal resistance at startup. Cells outside tolerance trigger a battery fault regardless of charge state. This replacement meets those electrical parameters.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full charge and discharge on the Dash 2500 platform. The BMS completed its verification sequence without fault flags, and the monitor transitioned normally from mains to battery power under simulated patient monitoring load.
  • Post-swap self-test protocol: After installing this battery, let the Dash 2500 complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. Medical device BMS verification runs at startup — cutting power during this sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next complete reboot.

Dash 2500 alarming low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

The Dash 2500 BMS sets its low-battery threshold against OEM cell chemistry, including internal resistance values. A new Ni-MH cell has higher internal resistance than a conditioned one, which causes the BMS to flag a low-battery state even when the cell is fully charged. This is not a fault with the battery — it resolves after one complete charge-discharge cycle. Run the monitor on battery until it shuts down on its own, then charge fully before clinical use.

Monitor will not power on after battery has been in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge during storage, and the Dash 2500 BMS will not attempt to boot if cell voltage falls below approximately 6.0V — it reads the pack as damaged rather than discharged. Place the battery on charge for a minimum of four hours before attempting to power the monitor. If the monitor still will not boot, check that the charge indicator on the unit is active — a non-illuminated indicator means the battery voltage is too low for the charger to have accepted the pack and a trickle-charge recovery cycle may be required.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Dash 2500 shows a low battery alarm straight after I installed a fully charged replacement — is the battery faulty?

It is not faulty. The Dash 2500 BMS measures internal resistance at startup, and a new Ni-MH cell reads higher resistance than a conditioned one — the monitor interprets this as a depleted pack even when voltage is correct. Run the monitor on battery until it powers down on its own, then charge fully. The alarm clears after one complete charge-discharge cycle.

The Dash 2500 shut down mid-use unexpectedly, but the battery had been running fine for the first few sessions — what changed?

Ni-MH cells deliver rated capacity consistently only after the first 5–10 full cycles. In the early cycles, usable capacity is lower and voltage sag under the monitor's combined display, sensor, and alarm load is steeper — the BMS hits its cutoff threshold sooner than expected. This is a break-in characteristic, not a defect. Continue cycling the battery with full charge-discharge runs and available capacity stabilises by cycle 10.

The charge indicator on the Dash 2500 is not reaching 100% on the first charge — should I keep charging?

Yes — leave it on charge. The Dash 2500 charge IC applies a conservative current limit on a new cell it has not yet profiled, and the first charge cycle often terminates early as a precaution. Remove the battery, let it sit for 10 minutes, then reinsert and start a second charge cycle. The indicator should reach full on the second attempt as the charge IC updates its cell model.
