Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Gilson F81052 PIPETMAN M P8X100M — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (F807007)
This 3.7V 400mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the OEM battery in the Gilson PIPETMAN M P8X100M eight-channel digital pipette. It powers the electronic control board, display, and motor drive functions that govern accurate 10–100µL dispensing. Capacity matches the original F807007 specification at 1.48Wh.
- PIPETMAN M P8X100M platform fit: The P8X100M uses a compact Li-Polymer cell with a three-wire connector that feeds both the main control board and the BMS handshake line. The physical envelope — 51.00 × 16.80 × 6.70mm — is tight inside the grip housing, and only cells built to this exact footprint seat correctly without stressing the flex connector.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and load profiling matched to the P8X100M's motor-drive draw pattern. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes on the first connection, and the charge IC brought it to full charge in the expected window without triggering the device's low-cell alarm.
- Post-swap self-test protocol: After installing this cell, let the pipette complete its full power-on self-test without pressing any buttons or interrupting the sequence. The P8X100M runs a BMS verification pass at startup — cutting power mid-sequence locks in a false battery fault that will not clear until the next clean reboot from rest.
PIPETMAN M P8X100M not completing boot sequence on a new cell
The P8X100M runs a startup self-test that checks cell voltage against a stored OEM threshold before it will finish booting. A new Li-Polymer cell that has been in storage can present a resting voltage below that threshold — typically anything under approximately 3.5V will stall or abort the boot. The device is not faulty; it is rejecting what the BMS reads as an under-voltage condition. Charge the replacement cell fully before installation, confirming the charger reports 4.2V at termination, then refit and power on.
Low-battery alarm triggers immediately after a confirmed full charge
This happens because the PIPETMAN M's BMS compares cell impedance against a learned profile built on the original chemistry — a new cell with no cycles yet presents higher internal resistance than a broken-in OEM cell, which the BMS reads as low state-of-charge even when voltage is correct. Run one complete charge-discharge-charge cycle before clinical use. After that cycle, the BMS recalculates its reference and the alarm clears. Do not use the pipette in a clinical workflow until this conditioning cycle is complete.

Frequently Asked Questions
The PIPETMAN M P8X100M powers on but shuts off mid-use — is this the new battery or the device?
On new Li-Polymer cells, internal resistance is higher in the first several cycles than it will be once broken in. The P8X100M's motor-drive current during dispensing pulls a short, sharp load spike, and a high-resistance new cell sags in voltage enough to trip the BMS undervoltage cutoff — the device shuts off as a protection response, not a fault. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles before using the pipette for precision work. After break-in, the voltage sag on motor actuation drops and the shutoffs stop.
The charge indicator on the P8X100M never reaches 100% on the first charge after fitting this cell — should I be concerned?
The charge IC inside the PIPETMAN M applies a conservative current limit when it sees a new cell with no charge history, which extends the absorption phase and can make the indicator stall below 100% for longer than expected. This is normal behaviour on the first charge. Leave the pipette on charge until the indicator completes or the charger terminates — do not pull it early. On the second charge cycle, the IC adjusts and the indicator will reach full charge in the normal timeframe.
The P8X100M won't power on at all — the display stays blank after fitting the replacement battery.
A Li-Polymer cell that has self-discharged in storage below roughly 3.0V will fall under the BMS hard cutoff, and the device will not attempt to boot. Connect the pipette to its charger before trying to power it on — the charge IC can recover the cell from this state by applying a low pre-charge current until voltage rises above the recovery threshold, typically 3.0–3.2V. Leave it on charge for at least 30 minutes before pressing the power button. If the charge indicator shows any activity, the cell is recovering.
