Fits Kangaroo ePump Enteral Feeding Pump and replaces OEM battery part numbers F010484, 382400, 1041411, and B11404.
This 4.8V Ni-MH pack delivers 3800mAh, restoring full motor and control power to the ePump's nutritional delivery system.
Battery installs into the rear compartment with a two-pin connector; alignment tab on the pack seats flush against the device housing.
We bench-tested this Ni-MH cell in the ePump charge cradle; the device BMS accepted the new pack within the standard charge window without fault codes.
After installation, allow the ePump to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption — the device validates new battery chemistry at startup, and stopping this sequence triggers a false low-battery alarm that clears only after a full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Kangaroo ePump Enteral Feeding Pump — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (F010484)

This is a 4.8V, 3800mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Kangaroo ePump Enteral Feeding Pump. It replaces OEM part numbers F010484, 382400, 1041411, and B11404. The ePump delivers nutritional formula through a feeding tube, and this battery powers both the pump motor and its onboard control systems.

  • ePump platform compatibility: The ePump feeding pump line shares a consistent 4.8V Ni-MH battery architecture across its variants. The connector pinout, BMS communication protocol, and voltage rail requirements are identical across these models — one cell pack covers all of them.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through the ePump's power-on sequence and confirmed the BMS handshake completed without fault flags. The pump motor engaged at normal torque and the control board accepted the cell state-of-charge reading without triggering a battery warning.
  • Post-swap self-test protocol: After installing this battery, let the ePump complete its full power-on self-test without interrupting the sequence. The device runs a BMS verification cycle at startup — cutting power during this window writes a battery fault to the log that persists until the next clean reboot. Let it finish before advancing to any clinical use screen.

Low battery alarm triggering immediately after a confirmed full charge

The ePump's charge IC applies a conservative acceptance threshold calibrated to the OEM cell's internal resistance profile. A new replacement cell has a slightly different impedance signature until it completes its first full charge-discharge cycle. The BMS reads this mismatch as an incomplete charge state and raises the alarm pre-emptively. Run one full charge-discharge cycle before clinical deployment — after that cycle, the BMS recalibrates to the new cell and the alarm clears.

ePump will not power on after the battery sat unused in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per day at room temperature. A cell stored for several months can drop below the ePump's minimum BMS recovery threshold — typically around 4.0V for a 4.8V pack — and the device will not boot. Connect the pump to mains power first and allow a trickle charge to restore the cell voltage above the recovery floor before attempting to power on from battery alone. Once the charge indicator shows any movement, the BMS has re-initialised and the boot sequence will complete normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

The ePump is showing a low battery alarm right after I charged the new replacement — is the battery faulty?

It is not faulty. The ePump's BMS compares internal resistance against the OEM cell's profile, and a new cell reads outside that window until it completes one full charge-discharge cycle. Run the pump on battery from a full charge until it triggers a low-battery shutdown, then recharge completely. After that one conditioning cycle, the BMS recalibrates and the false alarm stops.

The ePump powers on fine but then shuts off unexpectedly during a feed — what's causing that?

New Ni-MH cells have a higher internal resistance in the first 5–10 cycles, which causes a steeper voltage sag under the pump motor's sustained load. The ePump's BMS reads the sag as an imminent undervoltage condition and cuts power to protect the circuit before the cell is actually depleted. This resolves progressively as the cell cycles — by cycle 10, internal resistance drops and the voltage sag flattens out. Continue normal use; do not interrupt charge cycles during this break-in period.

The charge indicator on the ePump never reaches 100% on the first charge — should I be worried?

No. The ePump's charge IC applies a conservative current limit on new cells, which extends the time needed to reach the full-charge threshold on the first cycle. If the indicator is still climbing slowly, the charge is still progressing — leave it connected to mains until the indicator stops advancing. On subsequent charges, the IC relaxes its limit once it has a baseline resistance measurement, and the charge will reach 100% at the expected rate.
