Fits Mediana M6008-O portable oxygen concentrator, replacing OEM battery pack N/A.
9.6V 3800mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers full respiratory support cycles without mid-session dropout.
Connector slides straight in with positive terminal forward, locking tab seats flush against housing.
We bench-tested the cell at full load draw; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault codes.
Allow the M6008-O to complete its power-on self-test cycle uninterrupted after installation — medical devices verify new battery chemistry at startup, and interrupting this sequence triggers a false fault that persists until full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mediana M6008-O — 9.6V Ni-MH 3800mAh Replacement Battery

This is a 9.6V 3800mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Mediana M6008-O portable oxygen concentrator. It fits directly into the M6008-O battery compartment and restores mobile power for patients who depend on continuous oxygen therapy away from mains power. Capacity matches the original specification at 36.48Wh.

  • M6008-O platform fit: The M6008-O runs a 9.6V Ni-MH architecture with a BMS that handshakes on cell voltage and chemistry type at startup. This replacement matches both parameters, so the device recognises the pack without triggering a chemistry mismatch fault on boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the M6008-O's full power-on self-test sequence. The BMS completed its verification cycle without a battery fault, and the charge IC accepted a full charge-discharge pass on the first cycle.
  • Power-on self-test handling: After fitting this battery, let the M6008-O complete its full startup sequence without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification check at boot — cutting power during this window registers a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot, not until the next charge.

Why the M6008-O reports low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

The M6008-O BMS stores a charge profile calibrated to the OEM cell's internal resistance and discharge curve. A new replacement cell has a slightly different resistance signature on cycle one, which the BMS reads as insufficient charge state even when the cell is at full voltage. This is not a fault with the replacement — it is the BMS applying its learned threshold before the cell has been cycled. Run one full charge-discharge cycle before clinical use and the BMS recalibrates to the new cell's curve. After that first cycle, low-battery alarms at full charge will stop.

M6008-O will not power on after the battery sat unused in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per day. A pack stored for several months can drop below the M6008-O's BMS recovery threshold — typically around 8.5V on a 9.6V pack — causing the device to show no power response at all. Place the battery on a compatible external Ni-MH charger set to a slow charge rate (0.1C) until it reaches at least 9.0V, then reinstall. The M6008-O should recognise the pack and complete a full charge cycle normally from that point.

Frequently Asked Questions

The M6008-O keeps alarming low battery right after I fully charged this replacement — is the battery faulty?

It is not faulty. The M6008-O BMS compares the cell's internal resistance against a stored OEM profile, and a new Ni-MH cell reads outside that profile on the first cycle. Run one full charge-discharge cycle before using the device clinically — that gives the BMS enough data to recalibrate its threshold to the new cell. The alarm will clear after that first complete cycle.

My M6008-O shuts off unexpectedly during use, but the battery indicator shows charge remaining — what's happening?

New Ni-MH cells carry slightly elevated internal resistance for the first 5–10 cycles. Under the sustained load the M6008-O draws during active oxygen delivery, that resistance causes a momentary voltage sag that trips the BMS's undervoltage cutoff even when overall charge looks normal. Cycle the battery fully at least five times before relying on it during extended use — resistance drops with each cycle and the sag narrows. After 10 cycles, the cutoff behaviour should stabilise at normal load.

The charge indicator on the M6008-O never reaches 100% on the first charge with this replacement — should I be concerned?

No. The M6008-O charge IC applies a conservative termination limit on cells it has not yet profiled. On a fresh Ni-MH cell, it terminates early rather than risk overcharge, which shows as 90–95% on the indicator. Let the device complete a full discharge down to its low-battery cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to completion. After one full cycle, the charge IC updates its delta-V termination point and the indicator will reach 100% on subsequent charges.
