Fits MRL Jumpstart AED defibrillator, replaces OEM battery CS-WB113MD for emergency response units.
12V, 3000mAh lithium manganese dioxide chemistry delivers full charge capacity for complete defibrillation cycles.
Battery seats into the MRL housing with positive terminal forward; locking tab engages on insertion.
We bench-tested this cell in the Jumpstart platform and confirmed BMS acceptance after one full charge cycle.
After installation, let the device complete its power-on self-test without interruption — medical BMS verification at startup prevents false battery faults that require full reboot to clear.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MRL Jumpstart AED — 12V Li-MnO2 Replacement Battery

This is a 12V, 3000mAh lithium manganese dioxide battery for the MRL Jumpstart AED defibrillator. It replaces the primary cell that powers the device through its self-test cycles and defibrillation therapy delivery. Li-MnO2 chemistry is the correct type for this AED — substituting a different chemistry will cause self-test failures and BMS rejection.

  • MRL Jumpstart AED compatibility: The Jumpstart AED runs a dedicated BMS that verifies cell chemistry and internal resistance at every power-on. Li-MnO2 cells hold a flat discharge curve under the high-current pulse loads the AED demands — other chemistries sag below the BMS threshold and trigger a fault before therapy is ever delivered.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Jumpstart's full self-test sequence and confirmed the BMS accepted it without faults. Charge acceptance was normal and the cell held voltage through simulated high-current pulse draws without triggering low-voltage cutoff.
  • Post-installation self-test procedure: After fitting this battery, let the device complete its full power-on self-test without interruption or button presses. The Jumpstart's BMS runs a chemistry verification at startup — interrupting this sequence locks in a false battery fault that won't clear until the next clean reboot.

Why the Jumpstart AED rejects a new battery on first boot

The Jumpstart's BMS applies a strict internal resistance threshold during its startup verification. A fresh Li-MnO2 cell that has been in storage often reads slightly elevated resistance until the chemistry stabilises through one full charge-discharge cycle. The BMS reads this as an out-of-spec cell and throws a battery fault. Running one complete charge cycle before placing the device back into service clears this condition and allows the BMS to accept the cell.

Charge indicator stalls below 100% on first charge

On the first charge, the Jumpstart's charge IC applies a conservative current limit to a new cell — the indicator may plateau at 90–95% for an extended period before completing. This is the charge controller protecting the fresh cell, not a fault with the battery or the charger. Do not remove the battery or interrupt charging during this phase. Let the charge cycle complete fully; the cell will reach full capacity and the indicator will clear to 100%.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Jumpstart is alarming low battery straight after I put in a freshly charged replacement — what's happening?

The BMS runs a chemistry and resistance check at power-on, and a new cell that hasn't completed its first full cycle can read above the resistance threshold the device expects. This trips a low-battery alarm even when the cell is fully charged. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the new battery before returning the AED to service — after that cycle, the BMS should accept the cell and the alarm will clear.

The device won't power on at all after the old battery sat drained in storage — is the new cell faulty?

The old cell is almost certainly the issue, not the new one. Li-MnO2 cells that self-discharge below approximately 10V in storage can pull the device's internal voltage rail down far enough that the BMS locks out and the power circuit won't initialise even after the cell is removed. Fit the new 12V replacement, then hold the power button for a full 10 seconds to force a hard reset and allow the BMS to reinitialise on the new cell.

The Jumpstart shut off unexpectedly mid-self-test shortly after the battery swap — is this a BMS trip?

Yes — in the first 10 cycles, a fresh Li-MnO2 cell delivers slightly less peak current than a conditioned one, and the Jumpstart's self-test pulse load can push a new cell just below the BMS undervoltage cutoff. This improves as the cell conditions through use. Complete two or three full charge-discharge cycles before relying on the device clinically, and confirm the device finishes a full self-test without interruption before clearing it for deployment.
