Fits Rigel Uni-Sim Vital Signs Simulator, replaces OEM part 110847.
7.2V 2500mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers 18Wh to sustain full clinical training sessions without mid-lesson shutdowns.
Connector type confirmed matched to original pack; dimensions 87.20 x 53.30 x 14.70mm insert without modification or force.
We bench-tested this cell in the Uni-Sim simulator platform; the Ni-MH BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with normal voltage ramp.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle uninterrupted—the medical device firmware verifies battery health at startup, and stopping this sequence triggers a false fault flag that persists until full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Rigel Uni-Sim Vital Signs Simulator — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (110847)

This is a 7.2V 2500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Rigel Uni-Sim Vital Signs Simulator, OEM part number 110847. It fits the Uni-Sim directly and restores power to the simulator during clinical education sessions. Capacity is rated at 2500mAh (18Wh), matching the original specification.

  • Uni-Sim platform fit: The Uni-Sim draws a stable low-current load across its display and sensor simulation circuits. This replacement uses the same 7.2V Ni-MH cell configuration and connector pinout as the OEM pack, so the device BMS recognises it without manual pairing or software intervention.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and load on the Uni-Sim platform. The BMS completed its self-test sequence without fault flags, and cell voltage held above the low-battery cutoff threshold throughout the discharge curve at normal simulator load.
  • Post-swap self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, let the Uni-Sim complete its full power-on self-test without interrupting or cycling power. The device runs a BMS verification routine at startup — cutting power mid-sequence can register a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Why the Uni-Sim triggers a low-battery alarm with a freshly charged replacement

The Uni-Sim BMS is calibrated to the charge profile of a conditioned OEM cell. A new Ni-MH cell has not yet established full capacity and its internal resistance reads higher than a broken-in pack. The BMS interprets this elevated resistance as a partially discharged cell and raises the alarm even when the pack is at full charge. Running one complete charge-discharge-recharge cycle on the Uni-Sim normalises the cell parameters the BMS reads against. After that cycle, the alarm clears under normal operating conditions.

Uni-Sim won't power on after the battery sat unused in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per day at room temperature. A pack stored for several months can drop below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 6.0V for a 7.2V six-cell pack — at which point the device refuses to boot rather than risk running on an unstable supply. Place the battery on charge for a full uninterrupted cycle before reinstalling it. If the charger does not recognise the deeply discharged pack, most Ni-MH chargers have a recovery or force-start mode that applies a trickle charge at around 0.1C to bring the cell voltage back above the detection floor before switching to normal charge rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Uni-Sim is showing a low-battery warning immediately after I charged the new replacement — is the battery faulty?

Not faulty — this is a BMS calibration issue with a new cell. The Uni-Sim's charge management circuit uses internal resistance as part of its state-of-charge calculation, and a fresh Ni-MH cell reads higher resistance than a conditioned pack. The device misreads this as a low charge state. Run one full charge-discharge-recharge cycle on the Uni-Sim before clinical use, and the alarm should clear.

The Uni-Sim is shutting off mid-session without any prior low-battery warning — what's causing that?

New Ni-MH cells deliver less consistent current in the first 5–10 cycles because the electrode surface hasn't fully activated. The Uni-Sim's load profile during active simulation stresses the cell harder than standby, and a voltage dip under that load can hit the BMS cutoff threshold before the low-battery indicator has time to trigger. Condition the battery through several full charge-discharge cycles on the device before scheduling clinical training sessions.

The charge indicator on the Uni-Sim stopped at around 80–90% and won't reach 100% on the first charge — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. The Uni-Sim's charge IC applies a conservative termination threshold on a new cell to avoid overcharge during the first cycle, when the cell's heat response is not yet characterised. This is normal Ni-MH charge behaviour — the IC detects the delta-V or temperature cutoff earlier than expected on a cold, unformed cell. Complete a full discharge on the device, then recharge from flat; the indicator will reach 100% once the cell has gone through that first full cycle.
