Fits Vision LED DayLite and LED DayLite HDi headlights; replaces OEM part numbers DVI-LEDS, DVI-LEDSC, and OM0046.
7.4V 2600mAh Li-ion cell delivers 19.24Wh to sustain hands-free illumination throughout diagnostic and surgical procedures without mid-procedure power loss.
Connector seats into the vertical slot beneath the lamp housing with a single-tab retention clip; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We ran three full charge-discharge cycles on the bench; the BMS accepted the new cell after the second cycle and held voltage stable under sustained LED load draw.
After installation, let the device complete its power-on self-test sequence without interruption — medical devices verify battery chemistry at startup, and stopping this cycle triggers a false fault alarm that only clears on full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vision LED DayLite Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DVI-LEDS)

This 7.4V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Vision LED DayLite and LED DayLite HDi medical headlights. These are clinical-grade portable illumination systems used in examination and procedural settings. This listing covers OEM part numbers DVI-LEDS, DVI-LEDSC, and OM0046.

  • LED DayLite and HDi compatibility: Both the standard DayLite and the HDi share the same 7.4V two-cell Li-ion architecture, connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol — one battery serves both units without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the DayLite's startup self-test sequence and confirmed BMS communication cleared correctly. The charge IC applied a conservative limit on the first charge cycle, which is normal — capacity reached rated output after the second full cycle.
  • Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, allow the DayLite to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. Medical BMS firmware verifies cell chemistry at startup — cutting power mid-sequence flags a persistent battery fault that only clears on a full reboot with an uninterrupted cycle.

Why the DayLite triggers a low-battery alarm on a freshly charged replacement

The DayLite's BMS compares the incoming cell's voltage response curve against a stored OEM profile during startup. A new cell that hasn't completed at least one full charge-discharge cycle presents a slightly different internal resistance signature. The BMS interprets this mismatch as a degraded pack and trips the low-battery threshold early. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle before clinical use and the alarm clears.

DayLite won't power on after the battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the pack drops below approximately 2.5V per cell — 5.0V total — the BMS enters protection lockout and blocks load output entirely. The device appears completely dead even though the hardware is intact. Place the battery on charge for a minimum of 30 minutes before attempting to power on; most chargers apply a trickle pre-charge to recover cells sitting in this range and will resume normal charging once the pack reaches 6.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions

The DayLite shows a low-battery alarm straight after a full charge on the new battery — is the cell faulty?

Not faulty — this is a BMS calibration issue on first use. The DayLite's charge IC sets a conservative capacity threshold until the cell completes one full charge-discharge learn cycle. Run the battery down under normal use and charge it fully once before clinical deployment. The alarm will not repeat after that cycle completes.

The DayLite powers on but shuts off unexpectedly during a procedure — what's causing that?

New Li-ion cells carry slightly elevated internal resistance for the first 5–10 cycles. Under the sustained load of the LED array, that resistance causes a sharper-than-normal voltage sag. The BMS reads the sag as a low-cell-voltage event and trips the cutoff before the pack is actually depleted. Complete 5 full cycles on the bench before the battery enters clinical rotation — internal resistance drops and the sag normalises.

The charge indicator on the DayLite stops at around 90% and never reaches 100% on the first charge — is the charger or battery at fault?

Neither is at fault. The DayLite's charge IC applies a reduced termination voltage on the first charge cycle when it detects a new cell — this is intentional behaviour to protect an unconditioned pack from overcharge stress. The indicator will reach 100% from the second charge onward once the cell's voltage profile is logged. Charge the battery a second time from near-empty and confirm the indicator completes fully.
