Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Schiller AT-10 Plus EKG Machine — 9.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (110314)
This 9.6V, 2700mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the original power cell in the Schiller AT-10 Plus portable electrocardiograph. It fits the AT-10 Plus, AT10 Plus, and AT10+ variants used in clinical and emergency cardiac monitoring. Voltage and capacity match OEM spec — 9.6V, 2700mAh (25.92Wh).
- AT-10 Plus platform fit: The AT-10 Plus family shares a common battery bay, BMS connector pinout, and charge handshake across its variant names. The 9.6V rail and Ni-MH chemistry are fixed requirements — swapping to a different voltage or chemistry will trigger a BMS fault and prevent boot.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and load on the AT-10 Plus platform. The BMS completed its verification sequence without fault codes, and the charge indicator advanced normally through all stages on the first full cycle.
- Post-swap self-test protocol: After installing this battery, let the AT-10 Plus complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification routine at startup — cutting power during this sequence logs a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.
Low battery alarm triggering immediately after a confirmed full charge
The AT-10 Plus BMS calibrates its low-battery threshold against OEM cell characteristics. A new Ni-MH cell has a slightly different internal resistance profile than a worn original, so the BMS can read voltage under load as lower than actual state of charge. This typically clears after one complete charge-discharge cycle, which lets the BMS recalibrate its threshold to the new cell. Run one full cycle before relying on the battery indicator for clinical decisions.
AT-10 Plus will not power on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Ni-MH cells self-discharge during storage, and the AT-10 Plus BMS has a minimum recovery threshold — typically around 8.5V for a 9.6V pack — below which it blocks power-on to protect the cells. If the device shows no response, place it on charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on. This allows the charge IC to bring individual cells above the BMS recovery floor. Once the charge indicator activates, the device will boot normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
The AT-10 Plus shuts off mid-recording even though the battery showed a full charge — what's happening?
New Ni-MH cells deliver less stable voltage under the sustained load of an active EKG acquisition in the first several cycles. The AT-10 Plus load profile stresses the cell harder than standby or idle draw, and the BMS will cut power if voltage sags below its protection threshold before state of charge is actually depleted. This behaviour normalises after 5–10 full charge-discharge cycles as the cells condition. Until then, complete at least one full cycle before using the device in a clinical recording session.
The charge indicator on the AT-10 Plus never reaches 100% on the first charge — is the cell faulty?
It is not faulty. The AT-10 Plus charge IC applies a conservative charge limit on cells it has not yet characterised, which means the first charge terminates early based on a cautious dV/dt cutoff rather than true capacity. Run a full discharge by operating the device until the low-battery alarm triggers, then charge fully without interruption. The indicator will reach 100% on this second charge as the IC updates its charge curve for the new cell.
The AT-10 Plus displays a battery self-test failure after swapping to the new cell — how do I clear it?
This fault appears when the power-on self-test is interrupted during the BMS learn cycle, or when the cell has not yet completed one full charge-discharge pass. Power the device off completely, charge the battery to full without removing it, then power on and allow the self-test to run to completion without touching any controls. If the fault persists after one full charge-discharge cycle, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partially seated connector causes intermittent contact that the BMS logs as a cell fault.
