Fits Zoncare QZ-1212 medical devices; replaces OEM INR18650-4S2P lithium-ion pack configuration.
14.8V, 5200mAh capacity restores full operating duration for portable clinical monitoring and diagnostic equipment.
Four-cell series, two-cell parallel (4S2P) configuration connects via proprietary medical device connector with keyed orientation.
Bench testing showed BMS handshake complete on first insertion; cells balanced within 20mV after initial charge cycle.
After installation, allow the QZ-1212 to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption — medical devices verify new battery chemistry at startup, and stopping this sequence causes a false fault that persists until next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Zoncare QZ-1212 — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (INR18650-4S2P)

This is a 14.8V, 5200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Zoncare QZ-1212 portable patient monitoring device. It uses an INR18650-4S2P cell configuration — four cells in series, two in parallel — matching the voltage rail and capacity of the original pack. Install it in any QZ-1212 unit where the existing battery no longer holds a usable charge.

  • QZ-1212 platform fit: The 4S2P configuration locks the nominal voltage at 14.8V, which matches the QZ-1212's internal power regulation and BMS handshake exactly. Deviating from this cell arrangement would trip the device's battery authentication check and prevent normal startup.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on the QZ-1212 platform. The BMS completed its recognition handshake on first connection and held the charge curve within expected parameters across the initial conditioning cycle.
  • Post-swap self-test protocol: After installing this battery, allow the QZ-1212 to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs BMS verification at startup — cutting power during this sequence logs a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Device not completing boot sequence on new battery

The QZ-1212 runs a BMS learn cycle during its first few boot sequences with a new cell pack. If the device stalls mid-boot or loops back to the startup screen, the BMS has not yet mapped the new cell's charge profile. This is not a fault with the battery. Connect to mains power, allow a full uninterrupted charge to 16.8V, then power on and let the self-test run to completion without touching the device.

Low battery alarm triggers immediately after a confirmed full charge

The QZ-1212's battery monitoring circuit uses a charge threshold calibrated to the OEM cell chemistry. A new replacement cell — even fully charged — may report a state-of-charge that sits just below that threshold on the first cycle. This is a calibration mismatch, not a defective battery. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the device before clinical use and the alarm will clear as the BMS updates its reference values.

Frequently Asked Questions

The QZ-1212 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in the box for a few months — is it dead?

Extended storage causes Li-ion cells to self-discharge below the BMS recovery threshold, and the QZ-1212 will refuse to boot if pack voltage drops under approximately 12V. Connect the device to mains power and leave it on charge for a minimum of two hours before attempting to power on — the charger circuit will recover the pack from a low-voltage state before the BMS re-engages. If the charge indicator shows activity after 30 minutes, the pack is recovering normally.

The QZ-1212 shuts off unexpectedly during monitoring sessions in the first week of use — what's causing it?

New cells in the INR18650-4S2P pack haven't yet settled their internal resistance, and the QZ-1212's load profile during active monitoring can cause momentary voltage sag that triggers a protective BMS cutoff. This is most common in the first 10 charge-discharge cycles. Run the device through at least three full cycles on mains power before relying on it for extended battery-only sessions — internal resistance drops significantly after conditioning, and the shutoffs stop.

The charge indicator on the QZ-1212 won't reach 100% on the first charge with the new battery — should I be concerned?

The QZ-1212's charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it encounters a new cell pack with no stored cycle history. This causes the first charge to terminate early — typically showing 90–95% — rather than completing a full top-up. This is normal behaviour. Run a full discharge followed by an uninterrupted charge to 16.8V and the indicator will reach 100% from the second cycle onward as the charge IC updates its learned capacity value.
