Fits Alcatel Link Zone and MW42LM hotspot models, replaces OEM TLi025GA battery.
3.7V 2330mAh cell delivers 8.62Wh to restore full wireless connectivity and multi-device sharing on this portable hotspot.
Flat connector slides into the battery slot behind the back cover with left-side locking tab.
We bench-tested this cell under sustained WiFi broadcast and cellular data draw; BMS accepted the full charge curve without early cutoff.
When running extended hotspot sessions with multiple connected devices, place the unit in a ventilated area — the modem radio generates significant heat under high power output that compounds battery stress.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel Link Zone MW42LM — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TLi025GA)

The TLi025GA is a 3.7V, 2330mAh (8.62Wh) Li-ion battery for the Alcatel Link Zone mobile hotspot, including the MW42LM variant. It restores power to the unit when the original cell has degraded or failed entirely. Fit this battery and the hotspot returns to full wireless operation.

  • Link Zone and MW42LM compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The TLi025GA communicates charge state directly to the hotspot's onboard controller — no firmware flags or charge warnings triggered during our testing.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell under combined modem and Wi-Fi load with six active client devices connected. The BMS held voltage across the full discharge cycle with no mid-session cutoff events recorded.
  • Ventilation during extended sessions: Keep the hotspot on a hard, flat surface during long use. The cellular radio runs at peak output when connected devices are far away or signal is weak. Heat trapped underneath the unit transfers directly into the battery cell and accelerates capacity loss over charge cycles.

Voltage sag on the MW42LM when multiple devices are connected simultaneously

The Link Zone runs two power-hungry subsystems at once — the cellular modem and the Wi-Fi radio. At maximum client connections, combined draw can spike sharply, pulling cell voltage down faster than the charge indicator reflects. A worn or partially degraded cell hits the BMS low-voltage cutoff threshold before the indicator shows critical. A fresh TLi025GA cell handles this combined load without the premature shutdowns that a degraded original battery produces.

Link Zone won't power on after sitting unused for several weeks

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the hotspot sat powered off for an extended period, the cell may have dropped below the minimum boot voltage the BMS requires to allow startup — typically around 3.0V on this chemistry. The device won't power on even when placed on charge, because the BMS blocks current until it detects a safe cell voltage. Connect the unit to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on; if the cell has dropped too far to recover, replace it with a fresh TLi025GA and the BMS will re-initialise on first charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Alcatel Link Zone keeps dropping all connected devices mid-session even though the battery shows plenty of charge — what's causing that?

This is a voltage sag issue, not a capacity readout problem. When all client slots are active, the modem and Wi-Fi radio pull current simultaneously, and a degraded cell can't hold voltage steady under that combined spike — the BMS trips a protective cutoff before the indicator reaches low. The charge display lags real-time cell voltage, so it can show 40–50% right before a shutdown. Replace the TLi025GA cell and the BMS cutoff threshold won't be triggered under normal multi-device load.

The battery drains significantly faster when I'm in a weak signal area — is something wrong with the replacement cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The cellular radio in the Link Zone increases transmit power automatically when signal is poor, which draws considerably more current than it would at full signal strength. That extra modem draw compounds with Wi-Fi radio output, and a 2330mAh cell depletes faster under that sustained high-draw condition regardless of which cell is fitted. Move the hotspot closer to a window or higher position to improve signal reception — reducing the radio's transmit demand is the fastest way to lower drain rate.

The Link Zone won't turn on at all after I installed the new TLi025GA — did I get a faulty battery?

Likely not faulty — the BMS needs a minimum cell voltage to allow startup, and a new cell shipped in storage state may be partially discharged. Connect the hotspot to its charger and wait at least 20 minutes before pressing the power button. If the charge indicator light comes on during that window, the BMS has detected a valid voltage and is accepting current. Once the indicator shows any charge level above the boot threshold (approximately 3.0V), the unit will power on normally.
