Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZTE Pocket WiFi 601ZT / 801ZT — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (Li3920T44P8h644348)
This is a 3.85V, 2000mAh (7.7Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the ZTE Pocket WiFi 601ZT and 801ZT mobile hotspot devices. It matches the OEM part number Li3920T44P8h644348 and slots into the same battery compartment as the original. When your hotspot stops holding a charge or won't power on, this is the replacement cell.
- 601ZT and 801ZT compatibility: Both devices share the same battery footprint, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. The 63.40 × 42.60 × 4.50mm cell fits either unit without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a 601ZT unit with four simultaneous connected clients. The BMS held stable voltage delivery under combined modem and WiFi radio load with no spurious cutoff events.
- Cellular signal and heat management: Keep the hotspot in a well-ventilated spot during extended sessions. When connected devices are far from the unit, the cellular radio runs at maximum output power — that sustained draw generates heat that accelerates cell wear over time.
Hotspot disconnecting clients mid-session on a new battery
A fresh cell can still trigger mid-session disconnects if the hotspot is at maximum client count in a weak signal area. The modem and WiFi radio pull current simultaneously at peak output, causing a brief voltage sag below the BMS protection threshold. The BMS interprets this as an undervoltage fault and cuts output, dropping all connected clients. Reducing the active client count to two or three, or moving closer to a cell tower, keeps the combined draw within the battery's sustained discharge rating.
601ZT won't power on after sitting unused for several weeks
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and the 601ZT's standby current slowly drains the battery even when the unit is switched off. If the cell drops below roughly 3.0V, the BMS locks out discharge to prevent damage and the device appears completely dead. Connect the hotspot to a charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power it on — most BMS circuits re-initialise once the cell recovers above 3.2V. If the charge indicator light does not appear within five minutes of connecting the charger, disconnect and reconnect to prompt the BMS wake cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
My 601ZT battery drains much faster when I'm in an area with poor signal — is that a battery fault?
No — it's the cellular radio, not the cell. In weak signal areas, the modem continuously boosts transmit power to maintain a connection, drawing significantly more current than it would near a strong tower. Add multiple connected devices on top of that and the combined load drains a 2000mAh cell faster than the rated figures suggest. Move closer to a window or an area with stronger reception and you'll see a clear difference in discharge rate.
The hotspot feels noticeably warm during a long session — is that damaging the new battery?
Heat during extended use is normal, but location matters. The cellular modem generates the most heat when it's working hard — poor signal, maximum clients, or data-heavy streaming all push it to peak output. That heat transfers directly to the battery cell, and sustained temperatures above 40°C accelerate Li-Polymer capacity fade. Set the hotspot on a hard, flat surface away from direct sunlight and other heat sources, and avoid covering it with fabric or leaving it in a closed bag while in use.
After replacing the battery, the 601ZT powers on but shuts off randomly under load — what's happening?
This is usually a voltage sag issue triggered by the BMS protection circuit. When the modem and WiFi radio spike current simultaneously — at maximum client connections or during a large data transfer — the instantaneous draw can pull cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold, causing an unexpected shutdown. Check that the battery contacts in the compartment are clean and making firm contact, as even slight oxidation increases resistance and worsens the sag. If the shutdowns happen consistently with three or more clients connected, reduce active connections to two and confirm the issue stops at 3.85V resting voltage.
