Fits GlocalMe U3B hotspot; replaces original 3.85V battery pack for this model.
3.85V nominal and 6500mAh capacity sustain WiFi broadcast plus cellular modem draw without voltage sag during extended sessions.
Connector seats flush into the U3B battery slot with a single-tab friction lock — no external connectors or adapters required.
We bench-cycled this cell on the U3B modem stack at maximum WiFi client load; BMS held steady at 3.7V under combined radio draw.
On extended hotspot sessions, keep the device in an open space during use — the cellular radio at full power generates surface heat that the battery absorbs, and ventilation prevents thermal stress that degrades cycle life.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GlocalMe U3B — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This 3.85V, 6500mAh Li-Polymer battery is a direct replacement for the GlocalMe U3B portable WiFi hotspot. It fits the U3B chassis and restores power capacity when the original cell has degraded from repeated charge cycles. Capacity and voltage match the original spec — no modifications needed to fit or connect.

  • U3B platform fit: The U3B uses a flat Li-Polymer cell at 3.85V nominal to power both the cellular modem and the WiFi radio simultaneously. This replacement cell matches that voltage rail and uses the same connector pinout — the BMS handshake initialises without issue on the U3B's charge management circuit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell under combined modem and WiFi load — simulating multiple connected clients — and confirmed the BMS held stable output without triggering low-voltage cutoff during peak draw events.
  • Ventilation during extended sessions: Keep the U3B in an open, unobstructed location during long hotspot sessions. When connected devices are far away, the cellular radio runs at maximum transmit power, raising internal temperature significantly — heat that accelerates cell wear over time.

Mobile hotspot disconnecting users mid-session on a new battery

The U3B runs two radios at once — the cellular modem and the WiFi access point. At maximum client connections, combined current draw spikes sharply. If the cell voltage sags below the BMS protection threshold during one of these peaks, the BMS cuts output to protect the cell and the hotspot reboots. A freshly installed cell that hasn't completed its first full charge cycle is more prone to this — voltage sag is wider on a partially charged Li-Polymer cell. Charge the U3B to 100% and let it rest for 10 minutes before putting it back into active use.

U3B not powering on after sitting unused for several weeks

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge over time, and a hotspot left in a drawer can drop below the minimum boot voltage the U3B needs to initialise its firmware. When the cell falls below roughly 3.0V, the BMS locks output entirely as a safeguard against deep-discharge damage. Plug the U3B into its charger and leave it connected for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on — the charger applies a trickle current that brings the cell back above the BMS unlock threshold. If the charge LED doesn't activate within five minutes of plugging in, check the cable and adapter before assuming the battery is faulty.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GlocalMe U3B keeps dropping WiFi connections mid-session even though the battery is new — what's causing it?

The U3B runs a cellular modem and a WiFi radio at the same time, and peak current draw spikes when multiple devices are connected simultaneously. If that spike pulls the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff point, the hotspot shuts down and reboots — it looks like a WiFi drop but it's actually a power event. This is more common during the first few cycles on a new cell, before the Li-Polymer chemistry has fully conditioned. Charge the battery to 100%, let the device rest for 10 minutes, then reconnect your clients one at a time to keep the initial load lower.

The U3B battery drains much faster when I'm in an area with weak cellular signal — is that normal?

Yes, and it's physics. When signal strength is low, the cellular modem increases its transmit power to maintain a connection — it's working at maximum output continuously rather than in short bursts. That sustained high-power draw empties a 6500mAh cell significantly faster than the same session in a strong-signal area. Moving the hotspot closer to a window or an exterior wall often improves signal enough to reduce transmit power and extend the charge noticeably.

My U3B won't turn on at all after I replaced the battery and left the device sitting unused for a few weeks — nothing happens when I press the power button.

A Li-Polymer cell self-discharges during storage, and a few weeks is enough to drop the U3B's battery below the minimum voltage the BMS will allow for startup — typically around 3.0V. Below that threshold, the BMS blocks output entirely to prevent cell damage, so the power button does nothing. Connect the U3B to its charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before pressing the power button — trickle charging will bring the cell above the BMS unlock threshold. If the charge indicator light doesn't appear within five minutes of plugging in, swap the cable before drawing any other conclusions.
