Fits GlocalMe G2 hotspot; replaces original 3.7V 5800mAh Li-Polymer battery pack.
3.7V 5800mAh chemistry delivers 21.46Wh for sustained WiFi broadcast and cellular modem operation.
Connector seats flush into the G2 battery slot with positive contact alignment and retention clip.
We bench-tested the cell under simultaneous 4G modem and three-device WiFi load; BMS regulated voltage at 3.4V without shutdown.
If the hotspot disconnects users mid-session on this new cell, reseat the battery fully and power cycle the device — the cellular radio firmware needs to re-establish its power budget handshake with the fresh BMS.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GlocalMe G2 — 3.7V Li-Polymer 5800mAh Replacement Battery

This 3.7V 5800mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original cell in the GlocalMe G2 portable mobile hotspot. The G2 creates a personal WiFi network by pulling a cellular signal and rebroadcasting it to connected devices. When the original battery degrades, this replacement restores full operating capacity to the unit.

  • GlocalMe G2 fitment: The G2 uses a specific pouch-cell form factor at 84.82 x 50.70 x 11.00mm. This cell matches that footprint, the connector pinout, and the BMS communication the G2 firmware expects before it will power on.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell under simultaneous modem and WiFi radio load — the two largest draws the G2 places on the battery at once. The BMS held stable through repeated connection cycles without triggering a false low-voltage cutoff.
  • Ventilation during extended sessions: Keep the G2 on an open surface when running for long periods. When connected devices are far from the hotspot, the cellular radio runs at maximum output power — the heat generated accelerates cell degradation faster than normal use cycles would.

Why the G2 drops all connected devices mid-session under heavy load

The G2 modem and WiFi radio draw power simultaneously. At maximum client connections, combined current draw can cause a voltage sag that trips the BMS protection threshold — even when the battery shows a healthy state of charge. A degraded original cell with reduced capacity hits this sag point much earlier in a session. This replacement cell's 5800mAh capacity gives the BMS more headroom before voltage drops far enough to trigger a cutoff event.

G2 won't power on after sitting unused for several weeks

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge during storage. If the G2 sits long enough, the battery voltage drops below the minimum threshold the BMS requires to allow a boot — typically around 3.0V per cell. At that point, pressing the power button produces no response at all. Connect the G2 to its original charger and leave it for 30–60 minutes before attempting to power on; most BMS circuits will accept a trickle charge at this voltage and recover to normal operating range.

Frequently Asked Questions

My G2 keeps dropping all connected devices for a few seconds then reconnecting — is this the battery?

This usually happens when combined modem and WiFi radio draw causes a voltage sag that briefly trips the BMS protection circuit. It gets worse as the original battery ages and loses capacity, because the sag point arrives earlier under load. Swapping in a fresh 5800mAh cell gives the BMS more voltage headroom before it cuts out. Check whether drop-outs happen more often when you have the maximum number of devices connected — that confirms the cause.

The G2 battery drains noticeably faster when I'm in an area with a weak cellular signal — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong — this is expected behaviour. When signal is poor, the cellular modem increases its transmit power to maintain the network connection, which is one of the highest-drain states the G2 can be in. Add multiple connected WiFi clients on top of that and total draw climbs significantly. Moving the hotspot closer to a window or higher location improves signal strength, which directly reduces modem transmit power and slows drain.

The G2 shows it's fully charged but the battery percentage drops much faster than it used to — what's happening?

The original Li-Polymer cell has lost usable capacity through repeated charge cycles. The charge indicator reads 100% based on voltage, but the total energy the cell can actually store has shrunk — so it depletes faster under the same load. This is normal cell aging, not a firmware or charging fault. Replace the battery with this 5800mAh cell and the capacity gauge will reflect actual runtime again after two or three full charge cycles.
