Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Novatel Wireless MiFi4510L / MiFi 3352 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (40123111.00)
This 3.7V 1500mAh (5.55Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Novatel Wireless MiFi4510L, MiFi4510L 4G LTE, MIFI451, and MiFi 3352 mobile hotspot range. It slots directly into the battery bay and communicates with the device BMS using the same handshake as the OEM unit. Confirmed compatible with OEM part numbers 40123111.00, 40115118.003, 40115118.002, and 40115118.001.
- MiFi4510L and MiFi 3352 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay geometry, 3.7V nominal voltage rail, and three-pin connector layout — which is why a single cell covers both lines. The BMS on each device reads cell state over the same data pin, so the handshake initialises cleanly on power-up.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a MiFi4510L with five simultaneous connected clients under sustained data load. The BMS held charge acceptance across ten full cycles with no protection-cutoff trips at either end of the voltage curve.
- Ventilation during hotspot sessions: When connected devices are far from the hotspot, the cellular radio runs at maximum transmit power. Keep the MiFi flat on a hard surface with nothing covering it — fabric or pockets trap heat and accelerate cell stress over a long session.
Why the MiFi4510L drops connected clients mid-session under full load
The MiFi4510L runs both a cellular modem and a Wi-Fi radio from the same 3.7V cell. At maximum client count, combined draw spikes sharply — especially when the modem is retransmitting in a weak signal area. If the cell's internal resistance is elevated, voltage sags below the BMS low-voltage threshold and the device resets, dropping all connected clients. A fresh cell with low internal resistance holds the voltage rail stable through those draw spikes. If drops persist, check signal strength — a weak LTE signal forces the modem to draw harder, and no battery eliminates that root cause.
MiFi4510L won't power on after sitting unused for weeks
Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly in storage. If the MiFi4510L sits long enough, the cell drops below the minimum boot voltage — typically around 3.0V — and the BMS locks out discharge to protect the cell. The device shows nothing when you press power. Connect the hotspot to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on; the BMS needs to see enough charge to re-enable the output path. If the original cell sat discharged for months, it may not recover — that is the point at which a replacement cell is needed, and this one will initialise correctly from its shipped charge state.

Frequently Asked Questions
My MiFi4510L keeps kicking all connected devices off Wi-Fi every few minutes — is the battery causing this?
Yes, this is a known symptom of a degraded cell struggling under combined modem and Wi-Fi draw. As the original battery's internal resistance rises, voltage sags during peak draw — particularly when the modem is pushing hard in a marginal LTE signal area — and the BMS trips a reset to protect the cell. Replacing the battery eliminates the sag if signal strength is adequate. Check the signal bars after fitting the new cell; if drops continue, the modem is overworking due to poor coverage, not the battery.
Battery drains noticeably faster when the hotspot is used in a building with weak signal — is something wrong with this replacement cell?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. The LTE modem in the MiFi4510L automatically increases transmit power when signal is poor, which can draw 40–60% more current than it does in strong-signal conditions. That increased draw comes entirely from the battery, so capacity depletes faster — the same rated 1500mAh cell simply gets used harder. Move the hotspot to a window or elevated position to improve signal reception and reduce modem transmit effort.
I charged the MiFi4510L overnight after fitting the new battery but the device still shows a low battery indicator almost immediately — what's wrong?
A new cell needs the device charger to complete at least one full charge cycle before the fuel gauge calibrates correctly. The MiFi4510L's battery meter reads cell state-of-charge from a coulomb counter that may have stale data from the old cell. Charge the device to 100% with the screen off, then run it down to auto-shutoff, then charge fully again — after that cycle the indicator should track accurately. If it still drops immediately, confirm the charging cable and port are delivering full current, as a restricted charge current will leave the cell only partially charged despite the indicator showing 100%.
