Fits T-Mobile Wireless Pointer hotspot, replaces OEM battery CS-HUE583SL.
3.7V, 1450mAh lithium-ion cell delivers sustained power for mobile hotspot operation.
Connector type and orientation match T-Mobile Wireless Pointer battery slot without modification.
We bench-tested this cell on the Pointer platform; BMS accepted the pack on initial insertion with stable voltage delivery under combined modem and Wi-Fi load.
If the hotspot disconnects users mid-session after battery swap, power-cycle the device once — the firmware resets the cellular radio state and re-establishes stable connections.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

T-Mobile Wireless Pointer — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 1450mAh Li-ion battery fits the T-Mobile Wireless Pointer mobile hotspot. It replaces the original cell when the unit no longer holds enough charge to sustain a session away from a power source. Capacity is 5.37Wh — matched to the original specification.

  • Wireless Pointer platform fit: The Wireless Pointer runs a combined cellular modem and Wi-Fi radio stack from a single cell. Both draw from the same 3.7V rail simultaneously. A replacement cell must match this voltage exactly — a mismatch trips the BMS and the unit won't boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell under simultaneous cellular and Wi-Fi load. The BMS held cutoff cleanly at the low-voltage threshold and accepted a full charge cycle without thermal event.
  • Ventilation during extended sessions: Keep the Wireless Pointer on a hard, open surface during long hotspot sessions. When connected devices are far from the unit, the cellular radio runs at maximum transmit power — the resulting heat builds inside any enclosed space and accelerates cell degradation.

Wireless Pointer disconnecting users mid-session on a new battery

When the hotspot is at maximum client connections, the combined draw from the modem and Wi-Fi radio can spike the current demand sharply. If the cell voltage sags below the BMS protection threshold during that spike, the unit cuts power to prevent damage — dropping all connected clients instantly. A fresh cell with adequate capacity handles this draw without sagging. If dropouts continue after battery replacement, reduce active client connections and check that the unit isn't throttling due to heat.

Wireless Pointer not powering on after sitting unused for several weeks

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the Wireless Pointer sits unused long enough, the battery can drop below the minimum boot voltage — typically around 3.0V — and the BMS will block any load to protect the cell. Plugging the unit in directly and leaving it on charge for 15–20 minutes allows the charger to bring the cell back above the boot threshold before attempting to power on. If the unit still won't respond after that initial charge period, check the charge indicator light; no light at all points to a cell that has discharged below recovery voltage.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Wireless Pointer battery drains much faster when I'm in an area with weak signal — is something wrong with the replacement cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. In a weak signal area, the cellular modem ramps to maximum transmit power trying to maintain the network connection — this draws significantly more current from the 1450mAh cell than normal operation. Multiple connected devices compound the drain further. This is normal behaviour under those radio conditions, not a battery fault. Move the hotspot to a window or elevated position to improve signal strength and reduce transmit power demand.

The Wireless Pointer feels noticeably warm during a long session and then shuts off — what's happening?

Heat from the cellular radio accumulates inside the unit during extended sessions, especially when the modem is working hard. Once internal temperature hits the thermal threshold, the BMS cuts the load to protect the cell — this appears as a sudden shutdown with no low-battery warning. Place the unit on a flat, open surface away from fabric or other objects that trap heat. Let it cool for five minutes before powering back on.

After fitting the new battery, the Wireless Pointer powers on but the charge indicator drops to one bar almost immediately — did I get a faulty cell?

A single charge cycle is needed before the fuel gauge reads accurately. The hotspot's charge reporting circuit calibrates against the cell's actual capacity over a full discharge and recharge — on a brand-new cell it often reads low until that first cycle completes. Run the unit until it shuts off from low battery, then charge it fully to 4.2V without interruption. The indicator should track correctly after that first complete cycle.
