Fits Verizon Wireless Home Phone Connect, replaces BTY-WHPLVP2.
3.85V 2800mAh Li-ion cell sustains dual WiFi and cellular draw without voltage sag during extended sessions.
Connector slides in vertically with locking tab on the right side — align before pressing down fully.
Bench test showed stable voltage curve under combined modem and WiFi load; BMS accepted charge within normal parameters.
Keep the hotspot in a well-ventilated location during extended sessions — cellular radio at maximum power generates significant heat that stresses this cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Verizon Wireless Home Phone Connect LVP2 — 3.85V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BTY-WHPLVP2)

This is a 3.85V, 2800mAh Li-ion battery for the Verizon Wireless Home Phone Connect LVP2. It fits directly in place of OEM part BTY-WHPLVP2. When the original cell degrades, the device loses the ability to hold a charge and eventually fails to boot.

  • LVP2 platform fit: The Home Phone Connect LVP2 uses a single-cell Li-ion pack at 3.85V nominal. The BMS handshake is tied to this voltage rail — a mismatched cell voltage causes the device to refuse to power on, even with charge remaining.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through full charge and discharge cycles on the LVP2 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the device cycled through its boot sequence correctly under normal load.
  • Ventilation during extended sessions: Keep the LVP2 in an open, ventilated spot — not a drawer or enclosed shelf. When connected devices are at range limit, the cellular radio runs at full output power continuously, generating heat that accelerates cell wear faster than any other use pattern on this device.

Why the LVP2 drops connections mid-session under full device load

The LVP2 runs two power-hungry systems simultaneously — the cellular modem and the Wi-Fi radio. When multiple clients are connected and the cellular signal is weak, both radios push to maximum draw at the same time. A degraded or low-capacity battery sags below the device's minimum operating voltage under this combined load, triggering a protective shutdown that looks like a dropped connection. Replacing the cell restores the voltage headroom the BMS needs to sustain that load without cutting out.

LVP2 won't turn on after sitting unused for several weeks

Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly during storage. If the LVP2 sat idle long enough, the battery may have dropped below 3.0V — the threshold below which the BMS locks the cell to prevent damage. The device will show no response to the power button and may not react when plugged in initially. Leave it on the charger for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power it on; the charger's trickle circuit will nudge the cell back above the 3.0V BMS re-enable threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My LVP2 hotspot keeps dropping all connected devices for a few seconds, then reconnects — why does this keep happening with a new battery?

This is a voltage sag event, not a signal issue. When several devices are active and the cellular signal is marginal, the modem and Wi-Fi radio both spike to full draw simultaneously, pulling the battery voltage below the device's minimum operating threshold. The BMS cuts power briefly to protect the cell, which resets the connection for every client. Position the LVP2 closer to a window to reduce signal effort — lower radio output means less current draw and fewer sag events.

The battery on my LVP2 drains much faster than it used to, even with the same number of devices connected — what's causing that?

Check whether the device switched to 5G mode. The 5G modem in the LVP2 draws 30–50% more power than 4G LTE under equivalent load. If your area has spotty 5G coverage, the modem also cycles between 5G and 4G repeatedly, which adds its own overhead. Log into the LVP2 admin interface and lock the connection to 4G LTE to confirm whether 5G mode is the cause — if drain normalises, leave it locked on 4G in low-signal areas.

My LVP2 shows a charging indicator but the battery percentage never climbs above a low number — is the battery faulty or is it the device?

A battery that accepts charge but stalls at a low percentage usually means the cell's internal resistance has risen enough that the BMS throttles current before the cell reaches full capacity. This is a sign of cell degradation, not a device fault. Swap in the new BTY-WHPLVP2 cell and let it complete one full uninterrupted charge cycle — the percentage should climb normally to 100% with a healthy cell installed.
