Fits Alcatel OT-960, OT-960C, and Authority models; replaces OEM part numbers CAB31Y0014C2, TLiB31Y, and CAB31Y0008C2.
3.7V nominal voltage with 1750mAh capacity delivers the charge curve this Alcatel platform expects; fuel gauge IC calibrated to original cell specs may read high initially.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no locking tab; orientation marked on the cell matches the contact plate inside the phone.
We bench tested the cell through five full discharge cycles on a Alcatel OT-960 — BMS reported normal voltage under load, no early cutoff or thermal spike.
On first installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without opening other apps — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before the modem and screen load push current into an uncalibrated counter.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel OT-960 / One Touch 960 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CAB31Y0014C2)

This 3.7V Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Alcatel OT-960, OT-960C, Authority, and One Touch 960 series smartphones. Capacity is 1750mAh (6.48Wh), matching the OEM specification. OEM part numbers CAB31Y0014C2, TLiB31Y, and CAB31Y0008C2 all cross-reference to this cell.

  • OT-960 and Authority platform fit: The OT-960, OT-960C, and Authority share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers the full lineup without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the OT-960 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and charge termination triggered correctly at full voltage.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC a full reference curve against the new cell before high-current charging begins — skipping this step is the primary cause of erratic percentage readings.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the OT-960 after a cell swap

The OT-960's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell after a swap. When the new cell's actual voltage drops under modem or display load, it can hit a threshold the IC wasn't expecting — triggering an abrupt shutdown even though percentage still reads above zero. This is a coulomb counter mismatch, not a fault with the replacement cell. One full discharge to auto-off followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the IC to rebuild the curve against the new cell's characteristics.

OT-960 not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells shipped or stored for extended periods can drop below 2.5V per cell, which triggers a BMS lockout to prevent damage. The OT-960 will show no response — no boot logo, no charge indicator — because the BMS has cut output entirely. Connect the phone to a wall adapter, not a PC port, and leave it undisturbed for 20–30 minutes. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage clears the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.9V, at which point normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Alcatel OT-960 percentage jumps around erratically after I put the new battery in — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC on the OT-960 is still calibrated to the discharge curve of the old battery and is misreading the new cell's output. Run one full discharge to auto-off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. After that single cycle, the IC recalibrates its coulomb counter and percentage readings stabilise.

The OT-960 feels warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges with the replacement — should I stop charging it?

A new high-impedance cell produces slightly more heat during initial charge cycles than a broken-in cell — this is normal and tapers off after two or three full cycles. The charge IC on the OT-960 is managing current into a cell it hasn't seen before, which raises resistance momentarily. If the warmth is uncomfortable to touch or persists past the third cycle, check that the battery contacts are seated flat and the cover is not trapping heat. Normal surface temperature during charging should settle below 40°C.

Fast charging stopped working on my OT-960 right after I installed the new battery — it only charges slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the OT-960's charge IC may not immediately negotiate its fast-charge protocol with the new BMS — it defaults to standard current as a safety measure. Disconnect the charger, power the phone off completely, then reconnect. In most cases the charge IC renegotiates the protocol on the next plug-in cycle. If fast charging still doesn't engage after a full power-off reset, complete one standard charge cycle to 100% first — the IC typically unlocks higher current rates once it has a baseline voltage reading from the new cell.
