Fits Cricket Authority phones, replaces OEM part CAB31Y0014C2 and TLiB31Y battery.
3.7V, 1500mAh lithium-ion cell sustains the Authority's modem and display load throughout daily use cycles.
Connector seats flat into the battery slot with no locking tab — slides straight in and sits flush.
We bench-tested this cell on a standard charge cycle; BMS accepted input without fault codes or thermal drift.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without fast charging to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cricket Authority — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CAB31Y0014C2)

This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Cricket Authority smartphone. It replaces OEM part numbers CAB31Y0014C2 and TLiB31Y. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge through a normal day.

  • Cricket Authority fit: The Authority uses a removable back cover and a fixed connector pinout tied to this cell's voltage rail. The BMS in this replacement matches the original charge termination voltage and current limits, so the phone's charge IC accepts it without throwing a fault.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Authority platform. The BMS held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and accepted a full charge without interruption at the standard charge rate.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle before enabling it. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated gauge.

Why the Cricket Authority shuts down suddenly at 20–30% after a cell swap

The Authority's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. A fresh cell has a steeper voltage cliff at the low end, so the gauge reads 25% while the actual cell voltage is already near the BMS cutoff threshold. Under modem or screen load, the cell voltage dips fast, hits the cutoff, and the phone shuts off. One full discharge-charge cycle — draining to automatic shutdown, then charging uninterrupted to 100% — resets the coulomb counter against the new cell. After that cycle, the percentage readings stabilise.

Phone won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If this battery dropped below roughly 2.5V per cell before installation, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current flow to protect the cell. The phone will show nothing — no boot screen, no charge indicator. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a USB port, and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it clears the BMS recovery threshold, after which normal charging resumes. If the charge LED does not appear within 45 minutes, check that the battery connector is fully seated.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Cricket Authority percentage jumps around after I put in the new battery — is the battery faulty?

The fuel gauge IC in the Authority learned the old cell's discharge curve over hundreds of cycles. With a new cell installed, the coulomb counter is mapping an unfamiliar curve, so it guesses wrong until it recalibrates. Run one full cycle — drain the phone to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. The percentage readings settle after that first complete cycle.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in the phone after swapping the battery — what happened?

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes falls back to standard charging while it handshakes with the new BMS. This is normal. Complete one full charge at the standard rate, unplug, and then plug back in. On the second connection, the USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge protocol re-negotiates with the new BMS and fast charging resumes. If it does not return after the second cycle, check the charging port for debris.

The phone feels warm near the battery compartment while charging with the new cell — is that a problem?

A new high-impedance cell generates more heat during the first few charge cycles than a broken-in one. This is expected and typically fades after two to three full cycles as the internal resistance drops. If the back of the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — unplug it and let it cool before continuing. Charge at room temperature away from direct sunlight until the cell breaks in.
