Fits AT&T A767 Propel smartphone; replaces original 3.7V lithium-ion battery pack.
3.7V, 850mAh capacity sustains calling, messaging, and app use on this compact phone.
Connector slides into standard AT&T slot; no locking tab, straight insertion alignment required.
We bench-tested the cell under simulated modem and screen load; BMS accepted charge curve without early cutoff.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AT&T A767 Propel — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 850mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the AT&T A767 Propel slider phone. It restores power to calling, messaging, and on-device apps when the factory cell has degraded or stopped holding a charge. Dimensions are 47.23 × 36.31 × 5.40mm — same footprint as the OEM cell.

  • A767 Propel fit: The Propel uses a dedicated battery bay sized for this exact cell form factor. The connector orientation and BMS contact points match the original, so the phone's charge IC picks up the new cell without adapter modifications.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge-discharge cycles on this cell and monitored the BMS handshake with the Propel's charge circuit. The protection circuit trips correctly at low-voltage cutoff and resets cleanly on reconnect.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first install, disable any fast-charge accessory and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current. This gives the phone's fuel gauge IC a full sweep of the new cell's discharge curve before the percentage readout can be trusted.

Why the A767 Propel reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The Propel's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve from the old cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC is still referencing that old curve, so the percentage on screen doesn't track real charge state. The fix is one full discharge to auto-off, then a full charge without interruption. After that single cycle, the IC has a fresh baseline and the percentage readout stabilises.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under modem or screen load — a voltage cliff the uncalibrated fuel gauge doesn't predict. The phone's protection circuit cuts power before the display percentage hits zero. It's not a faulty battery; it's the fuel gauge acting on stale data. Run one full cycle as described above and check that resting cell voltage reads above 3.6V after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

The A767 Propel won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for months with the new battery installed — is the battery dead?

Most likely the BMS has locked out the cell after voltage dropped below 2.5V during storage. Connect the phone to a wall charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes before attempting to power on — the charge IC needs enough voltage headroom to wake the BMS out of lockout. If the phone still won't respond, check that the battery contacts are seated fully and try again. A locked-out cell that accepts a trickle charge will typically show the charging indicator within 20 minutes.

The battery percentage jumps around erratically — it reads 60%, then suddenly drops to 30% with no warning.

The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve and doesn't have enough data points yet to track it accurately. This is expected on the first few cycles after a cell swap. Run two full discharge-charge cycles — discharge to auto-off, charge uninterrupted to 100% — and the coulomb counter will map the new curve. After those cycles, erratic jumps of more than 10% should stop.

The phone feels noticeably warm near the battery compartment while charging — is the new cell overheating?

A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC pushes slightly more voltage to maintain current, generating more heat on early cycles. This is normal for the first two to three charge cycles and should reduce as impedance settles. If the phone stays warm after five cycles or the back becomes uncomfortable to hold, remove the charger and check that the battery is sitting flat with no pressure on the contacts. The compartment temperature should stabilise well below 40°C by the third full charge.
