Fits Cingular Flip 2, QuickFlip, and OT-4044C clamshell phones as direct OEM replacement.
3.7V, 1200mAh lithium-ion cell restores talk and standby runtime lost to age.
Connector slides straight into the battery door slot; no modifications needed.
Bench testing showed clean BMS handshake on first insertion with zero fault codes.
On first charge cycle, let the phone fully discharge before recharging — this recalibrates the fuel gauge IC against the new cell's discharge curve, stopping percentage errors.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cingular Flip 2 / QuickFlip / OT-4044C — 3.7V Li-ion 1200mAh Replacement Battery

This 3.7V Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Cingular Flip 2, QuickFlip, and OT-4044C clamshell phones. Capacity is 1200mAh (4.44Wh), matching the stock specification. If your phone shuts down unexpectedly, won't hold a charge, or no longer powers on, this cell addresses those failure points.

  • Flip 2, QuickFlip, and OT-4044C compatibility: These three models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V voltage rail. The cell physically seats and makes contact the same way across all three variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and load testing, confirming the BMS accepts the charge IC handshake and holds voltage within spec under simulated screen and modem draw without tripping the protection circuit.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before normal use. The phone's fuel gauge IC was calibrated against the old cell's discharge curve — one complete cycle resets the coulomb counter baseline to the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Flip 2 after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity problem. When the modem transmits or the backlight fires at full brightness, current draw spikes sharply. A new cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge IC can report 25% remaining while actual cell voltage has already dropped below the BMS cutoff threshold under that load. The phone interprets this as a fault and shuts off. One full discharge-recharge cycle lets the coulomb counter map the new cell's actual voltage curve, and the shutdowns stop.

OT-4044C won't power on after sitting in storage

Li-ion cells left discharged in storage self-discharge slowly past the BMS lockout threshold — typically below 2.5V per cell. When voltage drops that low, the protection circuit opens and blocks all current flow, including from the charger. Plug the phone into a wall charger, not a USB port, and leave it connected for at least 30 minutes without pressing the power button. Wall chargers deliver enough trickle current to nudge the cell above the 2.8V recovery threshold and prompt the BMS to re-initialise.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Cingular Flip 2 shows 30% battery and then just dies — why does this keep happening with the new cell?

The phone's fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve from the original worn-out cell. When current spikes during a call or backlight burst, the actual cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff even though the percentage display says otherwise. This is a coulomb counter calibration mismatch, not a fault with the new cell. Run one full discharge to auto-shutdown and then a full uninterrupted charge to 100% — the gauge resets to the new cell's curve and the early shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my QuickFlip is jumping around — it reads 60%, then drops to 40%, then goes back up without charging.

The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against an unfamiliar cell. After a cell swap, the coulomb counter has no reliable baseline for the new cell's voltage-to-capacity relationship, so percentage readings are unstable until it builds one. This settles after one or two complete discharge-charge cycles. Let the phone discharge fully to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption — after that cycle, the percentage display stabilises.

My OT-4044C gets warm near the battery while charging right after I fitted the replacement cell — is that normal?

A new Li-ion cell typically has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, which means the charge IC dissipates a little more energy as heat in the first few charge cycles. Warmth at the back of the phone near the battery bay during charging is expected and decreases after two or three cycles as impedance settles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or charging stops before 100%, remove the phone from the charger and let it cool to room temperature before resuming. Charge at room temperature — not on a soft surface that traps heat — and monitor the first two full cycles.
