Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TP-Link Neffos X1 / TP902C — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (NBL-38A2250)
This is a 3.85V, 2150mAh (8.28Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the TP-Link Neffos X1, Neffos X1 Dual SIM, and TP902C smartphones. It replaces OEM part NBL-38A2250 directly. Fits the same connector and cell footprint as the factory-installed unit.
- Neffos X1 and TP902C compatibility: Both the standard and Dual SIM variants of the Neffos X1 share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits all three listed models without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on a Neffos X1 unit. The BMS accepted the handshake on first connection, charge IC ramped to CC/CV without fault codes, and the fuel gauge IC tracked state-of-charge accurately after one calibration cycle.
- First-cycle fuel gauge reset: After fitting this battery, disable fast charging in the phone's settings and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging loads an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Neffos X1 after a cell swap
A new cell has a slightly different internal resistance profile than the worn cell the fuel gauge IC was calibrated to. Under high-draw moments — modem transmit burst, screen-on at full brightness — the new cell's voltage briefly sags below the BMS cutoff threshold even while the OS still reports 20–30% remaining. The phone reads the coulomb counter, not live voltage, so it doesn't see the cliff coming. One full discharge cycle from 100% down to auto-off, followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, resets the coulomb counter baseline and resolves the premature shutdowns.
Phone won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge during storage. If this battery shipped or sat at a voltage below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current flow to protect the cell from damage. The phone will show no response — no boot screen, no charge indicator. Connect the phone to a wall charger rated at least 5V/1A and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell until BMS lockout clears, typically around 3.0V, after which the phone will show the charging animation and boot normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the Neffos X1 showing the wrong battery percentage after I put in the new battery?
The fuel gauge IC in the Neffos X1 uses a coulomb counter calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. A replacement cell — even at the same rated capacity — has a slightly different curve, so the counter reports inaccurate percentages until it recalibrates. Run one full discharge from 100% down to auto-off shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging disabled. After that single cycle the fuel gauge IC locks onto the new cell's curve and percentage readings stabilise.
Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in the phone after fitting the replacement battery — is something wrong?
This is normal on the first connection. The phone's charge controller runs a handshake with the BMS on the new cell before allowing high-current charge modes. On some Neffos X1 units that handshake takes one standard-rate charge cycle to complete before the device re-enables fast charge negotiation. Charge the phone once at standard speed using a basic 5V/1A adapter, let it reach 100%, then reconnect your fast charger — fast charging resumes once the charge IC has confirmed BMS compatibility.
The Neffos X1 feels warm near the battery during the first few charges after the swap — should I be worried?
A new Li-Polymer cell typically has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. The charge IC pushes the same current into a higher-resistance cell, which converts more energy to heat during the initial cycles. The warmth is concentrated near the battery bay, not the charging port, and decreases after three to five full charge cycles as impedance settles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or shows a temperature warning on screen, disconnect the charger and let the cell cool to room temperature before resuming charging at 5V/1A.
