Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cubot X6 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (X6)
This is a 3.7V, 2000mAh Li-ion cell that replaces the factory battery in the Cubot X6 smartphone. It fits the X6 directly and restores power for calls, messaging, and app use. Capacity is 7.4Wh — matching the original specification.
- Cubot X6 fitment: The X6 uses a 3.7V single-cell architecture with a proprietary connector and BMS handshake tied to its charge IC. This replacement cell matches that voltage rail and connector pinout — the charge controller recognises the cell and proceeds through its normal charge stages.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the X6 board. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, stepped through trickle, constant-current, and constant-voltage phases cleanly, and held a stable resting voltage at 4.18V post-charge.
- First-cycle fuel gauge tip: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its discharge curve against the new cell before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated reference.
Why the Cubot X6 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The X6 uses a fuel gauge IC that tracks charge state using a coulomb counter calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. When a new cell goes in, the stored curve no longer matches real cell behaviour. The gauge reads from a stale reference, so it shows incorrect percentages — often optimistic near full and pessimistic mid-range. One full uninterrupted discharge down to auto-shutdown, followed by a complete charge, resets the coulomb counter to the new cell's actual curve.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet completed recalibration and the cell hits a voltage cliff under load — typically when the modem fires a transmission burst or the screen peaks brightness. The cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold momentarily, triggering an immediate shutdown even though the gauge still shows charge remaining. This is not a faulty cell — it is an uncalibrated gauge pairing with a new cell's steeper low-end voltage curve. Run one full cycle as described above; the shutdowns stop once the gauge tracks the actual discharge profile.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Cubot X6 shuts off suddenly at around 25% after fitting the new battery — is the cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. What's happening is a voltage cliff — under modem or screen load, the new cell's voltage briefly dips below the BMS cutoff threshold while the fuel gauge still shows 25% remaining. The gauge is calibrated to the old cell's curve, not this one. Run one complete uninterrupted discharge to auto-shutdown and then charge fully to 100%; the shutdowns stop once the coulomb counter resets to the new discharge profile.
Fast charging stopped working after swapping the battery on the Cubot X6 — the phone only trickle charges now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the X6 can default to a conservative trickle-charge mode because the new BMS presents higher impedance than the worn original cell. The charge controller sees an unfamiliar impedance signature and holds back high-current charging as a protection measure. Charge the phone to 100% at standard rate, let it rest for five minutes, then disconnect and reconnect the charger — the IC re-evaluates cell impedance and typically steps up to full charge current on the second handshake.
The battery percentage on my Cubot X6 jumps around erratically — it showed 60%, then jumped to 45%, then back to 55%.
Erratic percentage readings after a cell replacement are a fuel gauge IC recalibration issue, not a cell defect. The coulomb counter is comparing real-time cell voltage against a discharge model built for the old battery — the mismatch causes the gauge to jump as it tries to reconcile conflicting data points. Charge the phone to 100% without interruption, then discharge in normal use all the way to automatic shutdown. After that single full cycle, the gauge locks onto the new cell's curve and percentage readings stabilise.
