Fits Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 SM-G390 and SM-G390F models, replacing OEM battery part EB-BG390BBE.
This 3.85V Li-ion cell delivers 2800mAh capacity to restore full daily runtime on the Xcover 4.
Connector seats flush into the factory slot with no modification; locking tab aligns with the housing clip.
We ran full discharge-charge cycles on the bench; the BMS reported clean voltage under sustained modem load.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 SM-G390F — 3.85V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB-BG390BBE)

This is a 3.85V, 2800mAh Li-ion battery for the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 (SM-G390, SM-G390F, SM-G390Y). It replaces OEM part EB-BG390BBE and EB-BG390BBEGWW. Fit this cell when the original no longer holds sufficient charge or the phone shuts down unexpectedly under load.

  • Xcover 4 platform fit: The SM-G390 series shares a single battery bay spec — same 3.85V rail, same connector orientation, same BMS handshake across SM-G390, SM-G390F, and SM-G390Y variants. One cell covers all three.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell in an SM-G390F and confirmed the BMS accepted the new cell without fault flags. Charge IC engaged normally at 1A and stepped down correctly as the cell approached full state of charge.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. This allows the fuel gauge IC to map the new cell's discharge curve before fast-charge current is applied to an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Xcover 4 after a cell swap

The Xcover 4's fuel gauge IC retains the coulomb counter calibration from the old, degraded cell. When you install a fresh 2800mAh cell, the IC's state-of-charge map no longer matches actual cell voltage. Under modem or screen load, voltage drops faster than the IC expects, and the phone cuts power before the percentage readout reaches zero. One complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current forces the coulomb counter to relearn the new cell's capacity endpoints and eliminates the early shutdown.

USB fast charge not activating after fitting a replacement cell

On the first charge cycle after installation, the Xcover 4's charge IC may not negotiate fast-charge current with the new BMS. The BMS starts in a conservative state and limits inbound current until it confirms cell impedance is within range. Connect to a standard 5V charger — not a fast-charge adapter — for the first full cycle. After that cycle completes, fast charging re-engages at the next charge session once the BMS has confirmed cell health parameters.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Xcover 4 won't power on at all after sitting in a drawer for months — is the new battery dead too?

The BMS locks out below approximately 2.5V per cell to prevent deep-discharge damage, and a battery stored at low charge will hit that floor. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs time to trickle current into the cell until it clears the BMS lockout threshold. Once voltage recovers above 3.0V, the phone will boot normally.

The battery percentage on my Xcover 4 keeps jumping around erratically after I fitted the new cell — why?

The fuel gauge IC on the SM-G390 is calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. A new 2800mAh cell has a different impedance profile, so the coulomb counter misreads state of charge and reports erratic percentages. Run one full discharge — use the phone until it shuts itself off — then charge uninterrupted to 100% at standard current with fast charging off. After that single cycle, the fuel gauge IC resets its calibration endpoints to the new cell and percentage readings stabilise.

My Xcover 4 feels warm near the back panel while charging the new battery — is something wrong?

A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, and the charge IC pushes the same current into higher resistance, generating more heat in the first few cycles. This is normal and reduces as the cell conditions over two or three full charge cycles. Keep the phone out of its case while charging until the warmth subsides. If the back becomes hot to the touch — above what you'd call warm — disconnect and check that the charge adapter output does not exceed 5V 2A for this device.
