Fits Doro 8100, 8100 Plus, and DSB-0400 phones; replaces OEM DBZ-3000A battery.
3.8V 2500mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers rated capacity for calls, messaging, and standard apps.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no locking tab or retention mechanism.
We cycled this pack on a Doro 8100 test unit; BMS accepted charge on first insertion with no fault codes.
On first full charge cycle, disable any fast-charge option in settings — the fuel gauge IC needs one complete discharge-charge curve against this new cell before resuming high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Doro 8100 / 8100 Plus — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (DBZ-3000A)

This is a 3.8V, 2500mAh (9.5Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Doro 8100, 8100 Plus, and DSB-0400 smartphones. It replaces OEM part DBZ-3000A when the original cell has degraded, fails to hold a charge, or causes sudden shutdowns. Dimensions are 76.00 × 59.00 × 4.10mm — verify these against your existing cell before fitting.

  • 8100 and 8100 Plus compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol, which is why a single cell covers the full range including DSB-0400 variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the 8100 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the charge IC negotiated current correctly through a full cycle.
  • First-cycle fuel gauge reset: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before any high-current session pushes into an uncalibrated state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Doro 8100

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity issue. Under peak load — active call, screen on, cellular radio transmitting — the cell voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. The old cell's internal resistance is too high to sustain the voltage rail under that current draw. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance holds the voltage rail above the cutoff and eliminates these shutdowns.

OS reporting wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC on the 8100 uses a coulomb counter calibrated to the discharge curve of the old cell. When you fit a new cell, those reference points no longer match the actual cell chemistry, so the percentage readout drifts or jumps. Run one full discharge — down to auto-shutdown — followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that single cycle, the IC resets its reference and percentage accuracy returns to normal.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Doro 8100 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is it dead?

It's almost certainly a BMS lockout, not a dead cell. If the battery discharged below roughly 2.5V per cell during storage, the protection circuit trips and blocks all output to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage climbs above the BMS recovery threshold, at which point the phone will boot normally.

Fast charging stopped working on my 8100 after I fitted this replacement — the phone only slow-charges now.

This is normal on the first cycle with a new cell. The charge IC runs through a handshake with the BMS to negotiate current delivery, and on an uncalibrated cell it defaults to a lower charge rate as a precaution. Complete one full slow charge to 100%, then allow the phone to discharge to auto-shutdown. On the next charge cycle, fast charging will re-engage once the IC has validated the cell's impedance profile.

The battery percentage on my Doro 8100 keeps jumping around — it dropped from 45% to 12% in two minutes.

Erratic percentage readings after a cell swap mean the fuel gauge IC's coulomb counter is still referenced to the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell discharges along a different voltage curve, so the IC misreads state-of-charge at multiple points. Run one complete uninterrupted discharge to auto-shutdown followed by a full charge to 100% without unplugging mid-cycle. That single calibration cycle resets the counter's reference points and stabilises the readout.
