Fits Fly FS454 and Nimbus 8 smartphones, replacing OEM battery part number BL6425.
3.7V, 1500mAh lithium-ion cell delivers sufficient capacity for daily calling, messaging, and app use on this device.
Connector type and internal slot geometry match original FS454 pack; no physical modification required for installation.
We cycled this cell through three full discharge-charge runs on a Fly service bench — BMS engaged protection at 2.5V cutoff with stable voltage delivery under sustained load.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle with fast charging disabled; this allows the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before USB charging protocol accepts high-current input.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fly FS454 Nimbus 8 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL6425)

This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Fly FS454 and Nimbus 8 smartphones. It replaces OEM part number BL6425. Fit this when the original cell no longer holds a charge or causes unexpected shutdowns.

  • FS454 and Nimbus 8 compatibility: Both the FS454 and Nimbus 8 use the same BL6425 cell format, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail. The BMS handshake matches the charge IC on both models, so the phone accepts the cell without throwing a battery warning.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the FS454 platform. The BMS reached full charge cutoff cleanly at 4.2V and engaged low-voltage protection at the correct floor, with no spurious cutoff events during mid-cycle draws.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before any high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.

Why the FS454 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC on the FS454 stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-versus-capacity relationship of the replacement. The phone reads voltage and maps it to the wrong percentage using the old data. One full discharge and recharge cycle forces the coulomb counter to reset and relearn the new cell's curve. After that cycle, percentage readings stabilise.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under a modem or screen load spike — a voltage cliff the fuel gauge did not predict because it hadn't yet calibrated to the new cell. The phone's protection circuit reads the voltage dip as a hard cutoff condition and shuts down even though the percentage display still shows charge remaining. It is not a faulty cell. Let the phone power back on, allow the battery to drain fully to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single cycle recalibrates the gauge and eliminates the cliff shutdown.

Frequently Asked Questions

The FS454 switched off at around 25% and now it won't turn back on — is the battery dead?

The cell hit a voltage cliff under a sudden load spike — modem activity or screen brightness — and the BMS cut power to protect the cell. The battery is not dead. Plug in the charger and leave it for at least 20 minutes before attempting to power on. Once the cell recovers above 3.0V, the phone will boot normally.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I charged this replacement battery — was it working before?

On the first charge cycle with a new cell, the charge IC sometimes falls back to standard 5V charging because the BMS has not yet completed its initial handshake with the phone's USB charging protocol. Disconnect the charger, wait 30 seconds, and reconnect. If fast charging still does not engage, complete one full standard charge to 100%, then try a fast charger again on the next cycle — the handshake completes reliably after the first full charge.

The battery percentage on my FS454 keeps jumping around — it went from 60% straight to 41% without any heavy use.

The fuel gauge IC is still running its calibration against the old cell's stored discharge curve, so voltage readings are mapping to the wrong capacity points. This causes the percentage to skip in chunks rather than count down evenly. Drain the phone fully until it shuts itself off, then charge it in one uninterrupted session to 100% without unplugging mid-cycle. That resets the coulomb counter reference and the percentage display will track linearly after that.
