Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GOGROOVE SonaWAVE Portable Speaker — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V 1000mAh Li-ion cell replaces the internal battery in the GOGROOVE SonaWAVE Portable Bluetooth Speaker. It restores wireless audio playback when the original cell has degraded or failed. Dimensions are 53.00 × 33.90 × 5.70mm — measure your existing cell before ordering.
- SonaWAVE platform fit: The SonaWAVE uses a single 3.7V Li-ion cell running the Bluetooth audio module, amplifier rail, and charge management IC from one shared bus. Voltage and physical footprint must match exactly — this cell meets both.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the speaker's onboard charge IC and confirmed the BMS accepted charge input without fault flags. Discharge under continuous Bluetooth audio load held stable voltage through the mid-range curve with no premature cutoff.
- First-cycle calibration on the SonaWAVE: After installation, run one full discharge-to-cutoff followed by a complete charge before normal use. The onboard fuel gauge on compact Bluetooth speakers has no adaptive recalibration — it maps percentage directly to voltage, so a full reference cycle anchors the readout to the new cell's actual curve.
Why the SonaWAVE shuts off with battery percentage still showing
Compact Bluetooth speaker boards use a simple voltage-to-percentage lookup rather than a coulomb counter. When the cell ages and internal resistance climbs, the resting voltage looks healthy but collapses under the current draw of the amplifier and Bluetooth radio together. The BMS sees the voltage drop past its cutoff threshold and shuts the unit down — even if the display or indicator was showing charge remaining. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance holds voltage under that combined load, eliminating the premature cutoff.
Battery percentage stuck at 100% or jumping erratically after swap
The SonaWAVE's charge IC calibrates its percentage reference against the discharge curve of whichever cell it last completed a full cycle on. Installing a new cell without running a full reference cycle leaves the IC mapping voltage readings against the old cell's curve. The result is a readout that either stalls near full or skips in large steps as the voltage curve diverges from expectations. Fix this by discharging fully to auto-shutoff, then charging uninterrupted to 4.2V with no mid-cycle interruptions.

Frequently Asked Questions
The SonaWAVE powers off suddenly even though it was showing battery left — why?
The amplifier and Bluetooth radio draw simultaneous current spikes the aged cell can't sustain. The cell's internal resistance causes its terminal voltage to drop past the BMS cutoff threshold under load, even if the resting voltage looked fine a moment earlier. A new cell with lower internal resistance holds above the cutoff voltage during those combined load spikes. Install the replacement, run one full discharge-charge cycle, and the shutoffs stop.
My SonaWAVE won't turn on at all after sitting unused for months — is the battery dead?
Long storage with a partial charge often drains a Li-ion cell below 2.5V, triggering the BMS protection lockout. The speaker won't respond to the power button because the BMS has disconnected the cell from the output rail. Connect it to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes — some BMS circuits include a trickle recovery mode that will slowly bring the cell back above the 2.5V threshold and unlock the output. If there's still no response after that window, the cell has reached an unrecoverable over-discharge state and replacement is the correct next step.
The battery percentage on the SonaWAVE reads full but drops to empty within minutes — what's happening?
This is a fuel gauge calibration mismatch, not a fault with the new cell. The charge IC retained the discharge curve profile of the old degraded cell, so it interprets the new cell's higher-capacity voltage range incorrectly and compresses the percentage scale. Run one complete discharge to auto-shutoff followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 4.2V. That single reference cycle overwrites the old curve data and the percentage readout tracks accurately from that point forward.
