  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on an A3500 unit and monitored BMS communication throughout charge and discharge. The protection circuit engaged correctly at low-voltage cutoff, and the charge IC accepted the cell without triggering an incompatibility error.

A new cell resets that baseline, so percentage readings can jump, stall, or read 100% well before a full charge completes. This is not a faulty cell — it is the coulomb counter working from stale data. The charge IC needs time to trickle current into the cell and push it above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 3.0V, before the device will respond.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I used the replacement BL239 — is the new cell rejecting the protocol?

On the first charge cycle, the A330E's charge IC can default to standard charge rates while it profiles the new cell's impedance. This is normal and usually self-corrects after one complete charge. If fast charging still does not engage after a second full cycle, check that the original charger and cable are in use — a high-impedance cable prevents the handshake that triggers elevated charge current.

The A3500-HV feels warm near the battery during the first few charges after swapping in this cell — is that a fault?

A new high-impedance cell generates more heat than a broken-in one during the first few charge cycles as the charge IC works against higher internal resistance. Surface warmth — not hot to the touch — is normal and drops off after two or three full cycles as internal resistance settles.
