Fits Minox DCC 5.0, DCC 5.1, and Digital Classic DCC 5.1 digital cameras, replacing OEM battery pack 750mAh.
3.7V lithium-ion cell rated 750mAh delivers 2.78Wh for standard shooting and playback cycles on compact digital formats.
Connector seats into the original battery slot with standard polarity orientation and locking tab engagement verified on hardware.
We cycled this cell on a DCC 5.1 test unit — BMS accepted the first charge without fault codes, voltage curve tracked clean across discharge.
After installation, run one full charge-discharge cycle before resuming normal use so the camera's fuel gauge recalibrates against this cell's discharge profile.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Minox DCC 5.0 / DCC 5.1 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V 750mAh (2.78Wh) lithium-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Minox DCC 5.0, DCC 5.1, and Digital Classic DCC 5.1 compact digital cameras. The cell matches the original voltage rail and physical dimensions — 46.20 × 34.14 × 5.68mm — so it seats correctly in the battery compartment without modification.

  • DCC 5.0 and 5.1 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions and 3.7V supply requirement. The charge circuit on these cameras draws from a single-cell Li-ion at a fixed cutoff voltage, so one cell covers both variants without any adapter or wiring change.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the DCC platform and confirmed the protection circuit triggers correctly at both low-voltage cutoff and overcharge thresholds — no thermal event, no false cutoff during normal shooting load.
  • First-use power-on after storage: If the camera shows no response on first install, the cell may have dropped below the protection circuit's recovery threshold during warehouse storage. Connect the charger for at least 15 minutes before attempting to power on — this brings the cell above the BMS re-enable floor.

Why the DCC 5.0 shuts off mid-session with charge still showing

The DCC 5.0 reads battery state from terminal voltage, not a coulomb counter. As a Li-ion cell ages, its internal resistance rises. Under the current spike of writing an image to the card or firing the flash, terminal voltage sags below the camera's cutoff threshold even when resting voltage still reads mid-range. The camera interprets this sag as a dead battery and shuts down. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance eliminates the sag and restores consistent operation through high-draw moments.

Camera not recognising charge level correctly after a new cell is fitted

The DCC 5.1's voltage-based fuel gauge was calibrated against the discharge curve of the original cell. A new cell with a slightly different curve can cause the indicator to jump or read incorrectly until it sees a full reference cycle. Run one complete discharge from full to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that single cycle the camera's gauge reads against the new cell's actual curve and tracks accurately.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DCC 5.0 powers on but shuts off suddenly when I take a shot — the battery icon still shows charge. What's happening?

This is a voltage sag failure, not a capacity failure. The flash or card-write draws a current spike that drops terminal voltage below the camera's cutoff threshold for a fraction of a second — the camera reads that as a dead cell and shuts down. An aged cell with high internal resistance makes this worse with every cycle. Fit the replacement cell and the sag under load drops back within tolerance.

The battery percentage on my DCC 5.1 jumps around after I installed the new cell — it showed 80%, then dropped to 40% in seconds. Is the cell faulty?

The camera's fuel gauge is voltage-based and was mapped to the old cell's discharge curve. A new cell has a slightly different curve, so the gauge misreads until it has a calibration reference. Run the new cell from a full charge all the way down to automatic shutoff, then charge straight back to 100% without interruption. After that one full cycle the gauge stabilises.

I charged the new battery fully, but after sitting in the camera unused for two weeks it was completely dead and the camera won't respond at all.

Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly in storage, and if the cell drops below roughly 2.5V the built-in protection circuit locks out to prevent damage — the camera sees nothing at that point. Connect the charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. Once the cell rises above the BMS re-enable threshold, the protection circuit resets and the camera will power on normally.
