Fits Motorola PEBL U6 and replaces OEM part numbers BR50, BA700, SNN5696A, SNN5696B, SNN5696C, and 77732.
This 3.7V 710mAh Li-ion cell restores talk time and standby duration on the PEBL U6 after the original pack loses capacity.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a positive contact on the left side; locking tab seats flush against the phone chassis.
We bench-tested this cell against a discharged original BR50; the BMS accepted the charge handshake on first insertion with no cutoff errors.
On first use after installation, complete one full discharge and recharge cycle before heavy messaging — the fuel gauge IC needs to recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Motorola PEBL U6 / Razr V3 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BR50)

This is a 3.7V, 710mAh Li-ion cell that replaces the BR50 battery in the Motorola PEBL U6 and Razr V3 series flip phones. It fits the Razr V3c, V3i, and V3m among others using the same BR50 footprint and connector. Capacity figure is 710mAh as listed in the product specification — not the inflated numbers sometimes quoted on grey-market listings.

  • PEBL U6 and Razr V3 series fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V single-cell architecture, and two-pin connector layout. Any phone in this cluster drawing from the same BR50 platform accepts this cell without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a PEBL U6 unit. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake on the first cycle and held voltage above 3.5V under normal screen and standby load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, run one complete discharge down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. The phone's fuel gauge IC needs this full cycle to map the new cell's discharge curve — skipping it causes erratic percentage readings for days.

Why the PEBL U6 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The PEBL U6 uses a fuel gauge IC that stores the discharge curve of the original cell in memory. When you install a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the replacement. The phone reads voltage and maps it to the old curve, producing percentage figures that are off by 10–20%. One full discharge-charge cycle forces the IC to recalibrate against the new cell's actual curve, after which percentage reporting stabilises.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still running the old calibration and the cell hits its voltage cliff earlier than the phone predicts. The Razr and PEBL platform draws a spike of current when the radio transmits or the backlight fires — if the cell voltage drops below roughly 3.2V under that load, the BMS trips and the phone shuts off even though the displayed percentage looks safe. Run the full recalibration cycle first. If shutdowns persist after one full cycle, check that the battery contacts on the phone are clean and making firm contact — a resistive connection accelerates voltage sag under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

My PEBL U6 shows 40% battery and then just shuts off — is the new cell faulty?

This is a voltage-cliff shutdown, not a faulty cell. Under radio or backlight load, the cell voltage drops sharply below 3.2V even when the displayed percentage looks fine, and the BMS trips. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's curve, so the percentage reading is wrong. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — this recalibrates the IC and the shutdowns typically stop.

The phone won't turn on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it.

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below 2.5V the BMS enters lockout to prevent damage — the phone will not respond to the power button and may not show a charge indicator. Connect the charger and leave it untouched for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC on the phone will trickle current into the cell at a low rate until voltage recovers above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 2.8–3.0V, at which point normal charging resumes.

Battery percentage jumps around erratically — goes from 60% to 80% and back without charging.

The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell and hasn't completed a reference cycle yet. It samples terminal voltage and maps it to a stored curve — on a new cell that curve is mismatched, so small load changes produce large percentage swings. Do not interrupt the first full charge cycle and let the phone discharge naturally to shutoff before recharging. After one complete cycle the coulomb counter resets its baseline and the percentage readings settle.
