Fits Motorola A760, V300, V400, V500 flip phones; replaces SNN5683A, SNN5683, SNN5717, SNN5704 battery packs.
3.7V Li-ion chemistry delivers 850mAh capacity; restores full charge cycles on handsets that no longer hold power past midday use.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is fixed and cannot be forced backward.
We bench-tested this cell on the A760 platform; the BMS accepted charge current without fault codes and discharged evenly across the fuel gauge window.
On first use, let the phone fully discharge once before resuming normal charging — the fuel gauge IC needs one complete cycle to recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve and stop reporting phantom percentage jumps.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Motorola A760 / V300 / V500 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SNN5683A)

This is a 3.7V, 850mAh Li-ion cell that fits the Motorola A760 flip phone and its related V-series handsets including the V300, V400, and V500. It replaces OEM part numbers SNN5683A, SNN5683, SNN5717, and SNN5704. Dimensions are 57 × 35 × 4mm — confirm these against your existing cell before installing.

  • A760 and V-series compatibility: These handsets share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol across the platform. One cell covers the full group — no hardware modification required.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the A760 platform. The BMS handshake completed on first connection, charge termination triggered correctly at full capacity, and no thermal events occurred during the charge cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installing this cell, run one complete discharge to near-empty, then charge to 100% without interruption. The A760's fuel gauge IC calibrates its coulomb counter against this first full cycle — skipping it causes the percentage display to read inaccurately for several days.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the A760 after a cell swap

The A760's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original aged cell, not a fresh one. A new 850mAh cell has a steeper voltage drop at the bottom of its curve than a degraded cell does. When the phone hits that voltage cliff — typically around 3.5–3.6V under GSM transmit load — the IC interprets it as empty and shuts down, even though the display showed 25%. One full discharge-charge cycle resets the coulomb counter and eliminates this behaviour.

Phone not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If this battery dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell before installation, the BMS may have entered lockout mode to prevent damage. The A760 will show no response at all — no boot screen, no charge indicator. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes before attempting to power on; most BMS circuits require a trickle-charge recovery period before they re-enable the main discharge path.

Frequently Asked Questions

My A760 shows 25% battery and then cuts off with no warning — why does this happen with a new cell?

The fuel gauge IC in the A760 uses a stored discharge curve from the old, degraded cell to estimate remaining charge. A fresh 850mAh cell hits a voltage cliff around 3.5–3.6V under GSM transmit load that the IC doesn't anticipate — so it sees "empty" and shuts down while still displaying 20–30%. Run one complete discharge to near-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single cycle resets the coulomb counter against the new cell's actual curve.

The battery percentage on my A760 jumps around erratically after I installed the replacement — is the cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The A760's fuel gauge IC is recalibrating its internal model against the new cell's impedance and discharge profile. Until it completes one full discharge-charge reference cycle, the percentage readout pulls from a stale calibration and will skip or jump. Complete one uninterrupted full cycle — discharge to near-zero, charge to 100% — and the readings will stabilise.

The A760 won't power on at all after I installed the new battery — it was stored in the packaging for a few months.

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell dropped below 2.5V, the BMS entered protective lockout and blocked the discharge path entirely. Plug the phone into a charger and leave it connected for 15–20 minutes before pressing the power button — the BMS needs a sustained trickle current to exit lockout before it will allow normal operation. If the charge indicator still does not appear after 20 minutes, try a second charger cable to rule out a contact issue at the port.
