Fits Nova SmartNOVA smartphone; replaces original battery SKU CS-NK5CML.
3.7V 750mAh Li-ion cell delivers 2.78Wh — restores full charge cycles on the SmartNOVA without voltage sag under modem load.
Connector seats flush into the original battery slot; no adapter needed, standard smartphone contact orientation.
We bench-tested this cell in a SmartNOVA unit; BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion, discharge curve flat across 80–20% capacity range.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nova SmartNOVA — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V 750mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Nova SmartNOVA smartphone. It fits directly into the SmartNOVA and restores power when the original cell has degraded past useful capacity. Capacity is 750mAh (2.78Wh) — matching the stock specification for this model.

  • SmartNOVA fit: The SmartNOVA uses a compact 53.00 × 33.90 × 5.70mm cell footprint with a low-current BMS tuned for the phone's modem and display draw. This replacement matches that footprint and voltage rail, so the phone's charge IC recognises the cell correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS held cutoff voltage correctly at both ends — no premature trip on load, and protection kicked in cleanly at low-voltage threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins against an uncalibrated coulomb counter.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SmartNOVA after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. The new cell has a steeper voltage cliff at low charge states — the phone underestimates remaining charge and shuts down when the modem or screen pulls current. One full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging lets the coulomb counter remap to the new cell's actual curve. After that cycle, shutdown should occur at or below 5% as expected.

OS reporting erratic or wrong battery percentage after replacement

The SmartNOVA's fuel gauge IC stores a learned model of the battery's internal resistance and discharge slope. When a new cell goes in, that stored model no longer matches. The percentage reading jumps or stalls because the IC is comparing live voltage data to the wrong reference. Drain the phone to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this forces the IC to write a fresh calibration point and stabilises the percentage readout.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SmartNOVA shuts off at around 25% after fitting the new battery — did I get a faulty cell?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC calibrated itself to your old, worn-out battery and now reads the new cell's voltage incorrectly at low charge states. Run one full discharge to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. That forces the coulomb counter to reset its reference points and the early shutdowns stop.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after swapping the battery — is the port damaged?

The port is not the issue. On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the SmartNOVA sometimes refuses the fast-charge handshake because it is probing an uncalibrated cell with unknown internal resistance. Charge once at standard speed through a full cycle. On the next charge attempt, fast charging should resume as the IC has now profiled the new cell's impedance.

The SmartNOVA won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it — is it dead?

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if this one dropped below roughly 2.5V the BMS entered lockout to prevent cell damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until the BMS exits lockout, at which point the phone will boot normally.
