Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Wintec WBT-202 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V, 750mAh Li-ion battery for the Wintec WBT-202. It replaces the original cell when capacity has dropped or the device no longer powers on. Dimensions are 53.00 × 33.90 × 5.70mm — verify these against your existing cell before ordering.
- WBT-202 fit: The WBT-202 is a compact GPS logger running a single-cell Li-ion pack at 3.7V nominal. This cell matches the voltage rail and physical footprint the device expects. No connector modification required.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a controlled bench setup. The BMS responded correctly to charge termination at 4.2V and did not trigger premature cutoff under steady low-current draw typical of GPS logging operation.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after installation, run one full discharge-to-charge cycle without interruption. This lets the WBT-202's fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve, so reported charge level stays accurate.
Why the WBT-202 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The WBT-202 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds a discharge model from repeated cycles. When you install a new cell, the IC is still referencing the curve of the old degraded cell. The result is a percentage readout that may jump or read incorrectly, especially in the middle of the charge range. One complete uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle resets the reference curve and restores accurate reporting.
WBT-202 not powering on after sitting in storage
If the replacement cell was stored discharged or the device sat unused for an extended period, the cell voltage may have dropped below 2.5V — the threshold at which the BMS locks out to prevent damage. Connect the device to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power on. Most BMS circuits will accept a trickle charge at this stage and unlock once the cell climbs back above 2.9V. If the device still won't respond, check the charger output is delivering the correct voltage at the connector.

Frequently Asked Questions
The WBT-202 suddenly shuts off even though the battery still shows charge remaining — what's happening?
This is a voltage cliff failure. Under the load spike of active GPS acquisition, the cell voltage drops sharply below the BMS cutoff threshold — even if the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. A worn or deeply cycled cell cannot sustain voltage under that brief current demand. Install the replacement cell and run one full discharge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates its low-voltage endpoint to the new cell's actual curve.
The WBT-202 battery percentage jumps around erratically after fitting the new cell — is the battery faulty?
It's not a faulty cell — it's the fuel gauge IC recalibrating. The coulomb counter in the device was calibrated against your old cell's discharge profile. With a new cell installed, the IC doesn't yet have an accurate model and will show erratic readings until it builds one. Run one complete discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge fully without interruption. After that single cycle, the percentage should track steadily.
The WBT-202 feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — should I be concerned?
Mild warmth on the first few charge cycles is normal. A new cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates slightly more energy as heat during constant-current phase. If the device becomes hot to the touch or charge does not complete, disconnect and check that the charger output matches the 5V input spec. Normal warmth should reduce after three to four full charge cycles as the cell's impedance settles.
