Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

OnePlus Ace 2 Pro — 7.89V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BLPA09)
This is a 7.89V, 2400mAh Li-Polymer battery for the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro smartphone. It replaces the original BLPA09 cell when the device no longer holds a charge or shuts down unexpectedly. Restores full functionality across calls, apps, and media without replacing the phone.
- Ace 2 Pro fit: The BLPA09 cell uses a connector and BMS handshake specific to the Ace 2 Pro chassis. The 7.89V nominal voltage matches the dual-cell Li-Polymer configuration the board expects — substituting a different voltage cell will cause the charge IC to reject the pack or report incorrect state-of-charge.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full charge and discharge on the Ace 2 Pro mainboard. The BMS accepted the pack on first connection, charge IC engaged at the correct 10V VOOC input, and the fuel gauge IC registered cell capacity without manual intervention.
- First-cycle calibration tip: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated cell — preventing erratic percentage readings early on.
Why the Ace 2 Pro reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The Ace 2 Pro uses a coulomb-counter-based fuel gauge IC that builds its charge model from the original cell's discharge curve. When a new cell goes in, the IC is still reading against the old curve. The result is percentage readings that jump, plateau, or drop faster than expected in the first few cycles. One full slow-charge cycle — charger connected, fast charge off — gives the IC enough data to recalculate the curve against the new cell. After that single cycle, percentage accuracy returns to normal.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet mapped the new cell's voltage cliff — the point where cell voltage collapses rapidly under modem or display load. The IC predicts remaining charge from the old curve, so it misses the actual cutoff point on the new cell. The phone shuts down not because the cell is defective, but because the board hits the under-voltage protection threshold (~3.0V per cell) before the OS gets a low-battery warning out. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption — this resets the cliff mapping in the fuel gauge IC.

Frequently Asked Questions
The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in storage for a few months — is the cell dead?
Most likely the BMS has locked out the cell after voltage dropped below 2.5V per cell during storage. Connect the phone to a low-current charger — standard 5W USB-A, not a fast charger — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it recovers above the BMS re-enable threshold, at which point the phone will boot normally. If voltage has dropped too far for trickle recovery, the cell is permanently locked and needs replacement.
Fast charging stopped working after I installed the replacement battery — the phone only charges slowly now.
The Ace 2 Pro's proprietary VOOC/SUPERVOOC handshake requires the BMS in the new cell to complete an authentication exchange with the charge IC on the first session. On a cold or freshly installed cell, this handshake sometimes fails and the charge IC falls back to standard 5W input as a safety default. Disconnect the charger fully, power the phone off, then reconnect the original VOOC-rated cable and brick — not a third-party USB-C cable. A genuine VOOC cable carries the D+ signalling the charge IC needs to re-initiate the fast-charge handshake.
The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges after installation — is that normal?
Yes, and it has a specific cause. A new Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a run-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates more heat during the constant-current phase while the cell hasn't yet broken in. This is most pronounced in the first three to five charge cycles and tapers off as impedance drops. If warmth persists beyond five cycles or the phone becomes hot to the touch, check that the replacement cell's dimensions — 85.60 x 62.30 x 6.00mm — match the original, as a thicker cell compresses the thermal pad and traps heat against the board.
